Coro INCONTROCANTO

(see below for English Bio) L’Associazione INCONTROCANTO è stata fondata nel 1993 da coristi desiderosi di approfondire la propria esperienza corale e associativa in un clima di amicizia e incontro reciproco. Il repertorio del Coro spazia su diversi generi e periodi storici, con una particolare attenzione al repertorio europeo sacro e profano tra ‘800 e ‘900. INCONTROCANTO ha tenuto molti concerti e ha partecipato a diverse iniziative, tra cui l’allestimento, nel 1996, del “Requiem” di Mozart con l’Orchestra Filarmonica di Torino, la partecipazione, nel 1998, a “LuciCanti” per l’Ostensione della Sindone e la collaborazione alla prima italiana dell’oratorio “Mal’hakim” di Riccardo Piacentini. In seguito ha tenuto numerosi concerti in Piemonte, Liguria, Francia, Ungheria ed è stata più volte ospite in rassegne e stagioni a livello locale e regionale, tra le quali le stagioni ASPOR Piemonte, Piemonte in Musica, la rassegna Notturnincanti 2004, le stagioni “Musica in Santuario” di Pianezza, le stagioni del Teatro Araldo di Torino e il Festival MiTo Settembre Musica proponendo, tra gli altri, progetti su classici corali (Requiem di Fauré, Via Crucis di Liszt), su autori piemontesi poco conosciuti (Giulio Roberti), sul connubio tra coro ed elettronica (progetti Humour & Melancholy e Anelito – forme dell’infinita distanza) e alcuni progetti sperimentali (Scherzi da... Coro! e Rumore: l’altra faccia della musica). Nel 2010, in occasione dell’Ostensione della Sindone, ha promosso la rassegna di meditazioni musicali Passionis Mysterium. Nel 2013 ha celebrato il proprio Ventennale con diversi eventi corali aperti a coristi, appassionati e curiosi (concerti, seminari tematici, flash-mobs, carolate natalizie). Nella primavera del 2012 e nell'inverno 2014 ha organizzato la rassegna corale Vocincontro. Nel 2015 ha messo in scena la Missa Katharina dell'olandese Jacob de Haan, eseguita a Torino in collaborazione con 'orchestra tedesca "International Mosel Valley Concert Band" e diretta dallo stesso autore ed è stata inserita nel prestigioso programma "MiTo Settembre Musica / MiTo per la Città 2015"con il concerto "Ave Verum" per Soprano, Organo e Coro. INCONTROCANTO Choir Biography (EN) The INCONTROCANTO Association and the Choir were funded in 1993 by people coming from prestigious choral ensembles based in Turin (Italy). Today the choir has thirty-five members and also includes young singers trained in the frame of the educational courses promoted by the Association itself. The choir repertoire covers different genres and spans over different historical periods, with particular focus on the sacred and profane European repertoire between the XIXth and XXth centuries. Over the years, the INCONTROCANTO Choir performed in several concerts, either alone or as part of larger musical co-operations. In 1996, INCONTROCANTO was invited to the staging of the Mozart's "Requiem" in Turin, with the Turin Philarmonica Orchestra and, in 1998, it first participated to the "LuciCanti" performances for the Holy Shroud public exposure and then contributed to the Italian "première" (first national representation) of the Riccardo Piacentini's "Mal'hakim" Oratorio. More recently, the INCONTROCANTO Choir performed in several concerts in Piedmont, Liguria, France, Hungary and it has been invited to participate to many local and regional events and musical season programs such as the "San Mauro Choral Review" (Spring 2002), the "Al lieve tuo candor…" season hosted in Bardonecchia in the frame of "Piemonte in Musica" (Winter 2002-2003), the ASPOR Piemonte Seasons since 2003, the "Notturnincanti" Review in 2004 and the "Piemonte in Musica" Seasons 2008 and 2009. .. The musical proposal made available by the INCONTROCANTO Choir, even if focused mainly on the '800-'900 period, spans over many different styles and includes projects on classical works (e.g. Faurè's Requiem, F.Liszt - Via Crucis) and famous composers (Bruckner, Lizst, Rheinberger, Rossini, Stravinsky, ..etc.), as well as less known local authors (Giulio Roberti - Missa in honorem Sancti Laurentii) and contemporary composers. The Choir has also ventured into some original projects based on atmospheres merging classical choir harmonization with electronics and effects ("Humour and Melancholy" project), or even experimental situations (e.g. "Scherzi da..Coro", "Rumore: l'altra faccia della musica" and "Anelito - Forme dell'infinita distanza - Omaggio a Emily Dickinson" projects). In 2010, it organized “Passionis Misterium” musical meditations for the Holy Shroud public exposure. In 2012 and 2014 it organized the “VocIncontro” choral Festival. In 2015, in cooperation with the "International Mosel Valley Concert Band", performed the Missa Katharina by Jacob De Haan with the participation of the author at the podium. In 2015 it has been also invited to perform in the prestigueus "MiTo Settembre Musica / MiTo per la Città 2015" Festival with its “Ave Verum” programme. The versatility achieved over the years, under the skillful artistic guide of its director, Pietro MUSSINO, makes now the INCONTROCANTO Choir a well established reality in the frame of the Piedmontese amateur choral environment.
