Season Ten of the Patchogue Theater's Live in the Lobby series kicks off with two great singer-songwriters that are each releasing their debut albums! A double Album release celebration with Chris J. Connolly and Bryan Gallo with Butcher's Blind. Bryan Gallo is a Long Island based singer-songwriter and former front man of the band Attic Space. His songs are inspired by late nights in bars, the backseats of cars, and the pressures and consequences of living life romantically. Intrigued by both the sounds of alternative country-rock and wistful pop music he embarked on a solo career and began to pen songs that would be deeply personal but still readily accessible. Steeped in reflective heartache, the lexicon of Gallo’s lyrics stands as a testament to his raw talent as a musician while weaving a flush and relatable narrative. Whether it be an intimate gig at a tavern or cafe or on a large stage setting under the lights, Bryan’s words and melodies stick with audiences long after the show is over. He'll be backed by Pete Mancini, Paul Cianciaruso, Brian Reilly, and Christopher Smith who are also known as Butchers Blind, a well established Long Island Band that recently released their second album on Paradiddle Records and are hard at work on their third. Weaving between two continents, Chris J. Connolly’s music has been his support system and a reflection of his journeys. Originally from Staffordshire, England - Chris spent his early years performing in hometown venues before eventually crossing the Atlantic to reside in his current home on Long Island. Inspired by both early American roots music and modern alt-rock, Chris grew to craft his own unique style of writing and phrasing that moves between sublime, evolving and hook based melodies. Chris’s debut album, due out this fall on Diversion Records, is anchored around his raw acoustic guitar and vocal arrangements while also exploring new-found sonic territory. With minimalistic additions of percussion, bass, and electric guitar, the album is a diverse and spacious journey rooted in natural performances and craftsmanship that maintains the intimacy and presence of his earlier work. The first single is due in September, with the full album following in late 2014. Entering its tenth season, Live in the Lobby has cemented its reputation for supporting, nurturing and encouraging original music from Long Island, having presented over 100 shows in the intimate setting of the PTPA Lobby and given birth to several other performance series such as The New Musicals Project and Laughter in the Lobby. The hard working volunteers that present Live in the Lobby are proud of our "venue within a venue" and look forward to welcoming you! Tickets: $10 and include a beverage at the bar. SEATING IS LIMITED, and "First Come" Doors open at 7 PM. Tickets can be purchased the day of the performance at the box office, or call 631-207-1313 to reserve tickets.
