Brenda MacIntyre, Medicine Song Woman is a Native American world/roots artist, speaker and healer based in Toronto, Canada. Dubbed the "hand drum healer" by the Native Canadian newspaper, Brenda does hand drumming and healing workshops as well as solo performances that reach into your soul and give you goose bumps.

Originally from Calgary, Brenda grew up in British Columbia until her mid-teens when both her parents died, prompting her to move to Toronto.

Her career began soon afterward with a hit on a Florida radio station and a single on a Juno award-winning CD, leading to a nomination for a Canadian Reggae Music Award.

After leaving her childhood and teen depression behind, the single mother experienced abuse and extreme poverty for several years until she discovered an Aboriginal women's healing lodge and began a remarkable personal journey toward wellness.

Brenda's diverse clientele includes the Niagara Folk Arts Festival, Bank of Montreal, Brandon University, the Okanagan First Nation and the Salmon Arm Roots & Blues Festival in BC.

The world class singer performs and speaks across Canada and has been featured nationally on MuchMusic, APTN, OMNI, Vision and TLN.

Her latest CD Spirit Connection was nominated for an Aboriginal People's Choice Award in 2007 after she was named Toronto's Aboriginal Businesswoman of the Year. Brenda MacIntyre was the #1 Canadian Artist in Neo-Soul on MySpace.com for over a year.
