Our Websites: http://birdiejones.com https://www.facebook.com/birdiejonesband https://soundcloud.com/birdiejones Email Contact: birdiejones@outlook.com Bio: Music is in her DNA. Rachel Blackwell AKA “Birdie” is the daughter of Chuck Blackwell, the drummer from the 60’s TV show Shindig, not to mention Leon Russell, Joe Cocker, Taj Mahal and many others. Birdie got her start singing with her mother in the church choir. Growing up in Los Angeles, in the 80’s, she got involved in the Mod scene, where she developed her love for Soul music. Both her parents are Oklahoma natives, so there was always Country music around. Unintentionally, Soul and Country influences merged to form the unique style of Birdie Jones. Birdie has been in multiple bands that never went in the direction she was naturally driven to. Out of frustration, Birdie Jones was created so she could do the music she was meant to do. The talented Ms. Maura Murphy-Barrosse provides the backing vocals for Birdie Jones. Maura has been performing on stages, to large audiences since about the age of 5! She comes from a show biz family, performing is in her blood. It's what she was born to do. She also performs with her solo project "Ms.Maura" Joe D'Ambra is the bass player who is originally from Houston Texas. He's played in a variety of bands, and continues to play in the Rock/Metal band "Suicide Jones". Joe really loves all types of music. He especially loves to get out there on the stage and perform to a live audience. Bob McNabb is the man with real guitar playing experience. A true country rocker, originally from Alabama. This guy is the real deal. When Bob isn't rockin' with Birdie Jones, he's mixin' sound at a Hollywood studio. He also has another project where he plays bass guitar. So needless to say, Bob knows all aspects of what sounds right, and you can hear the proof in his playing. Ron Nuttall is the drummer with the beat that can't be beat. Ron is the newest member of the band and is just one hell of a drummer! Robert Fitzpatrick is a Canadian born Pianist/Scientist living in Burbank Ca. When not tinkering in the laboratory during the day you can find him tickling the ivories around town with Birdie Jones. Starting in the 80s with guitarist Nick Walusko (Wondermints, Brian Wilson, Beach Boys), "Fitz" adds a Honky Tonk flavor to the down home country soul sounds of Birdie Jones. When you bring these people together, you naturally get some of the best down home country soul you’ve ever heard!
