Biography
Formed by Marcelo Miranda (g/v), the band used the name Gruunks during almost a decade, but in 2000 , changed to ARUM due to new music direction and new ideology.
The band is always searching for your own music style, influenced by the all true metal styles (black, death, doom, heavy and 80s thrash metal), yonder erudite music.
After some line up changes, finally ARUM released in anno 2000, a demo tape called The Gruunks Age.
In 2001, their debut Cd was released by Demise Records (Brazilian label) under the name of "Fierce Everlasting Tempest" .
After this, ARUM took part in some metal compilations and in 2002, after a new line up change, ARUM continues to develop their own conception of Black Metal art, inspired in occultism and satanic paths , releases a EP Hellish Spells.
In early 2003 they recorded their second album Inhuman Echoes From the Shadows, and it was released by KillZone Records in the beginning of 2004.
In the of 2005, the band recorded the third album "Occult Cataclysm - The New Era Rises.
In may 2006, the band was invited to play as support act for Rotting Christ gig at Arena Metal Bar in Osasco/Brazil.
In october the Ep Prelude to the Cataclysm, was released again by KillZone Records.
In november/december 2006, Arum went on tour through Europe with Aeternus, Darkshine and Devilish Impressions.
