Dear Friends, Revelers and Creatures of the Night! Amour Obscur is thrilled to invite you to a night of music, drinking, dancing and debauchery in honor of the release of our debut album, Berlin, Your Dance Partner is Death! While we have been enjoying quite a run as a live band in NYC performing in underground watertower speakeasies, tearing up top tier stages and even crashing network TV shows playing ourselves; you have never been able to take Amour Obscur home for your own (guilty, drunken) pleasure until now! Ladies and gentlemen, we give you our first full-length album produced by the legendary Vic Thrill of the Bogmen. On Saturday, October 18th, join us at Kings County Saloon to take part in their Dark Carnival Weekend where we will headline at 9pm on Saturday complimented by a depraved menagerie of sideshow, burlesque and circus arts performers and vintage carnival games. As a way of showing how much we LOVE you...the show will be FREE! So, please come with black hearts and thirsty mouths to celebrate with Amour Obscur! FREE ALL NIGHT!!! NO CHARGE (so you can drink more!) WE LOVE YOU! Dee Dee Vega Matt Dallow Yoni Benshlomo Sebastian Isler Jeremy Kroger Julian Evans are AMOUR OBSCUR POSTS
Head back in time and explore the Transit Museum after hours as we examine the marvel of engineering that transformed the city from steam to electric at the dawn of the twentieth century. Housed in a disused underground subway station, the New York Transit Museum boasts an incredible collection of artifacts from the history of public transportation in New York, including vintage turnstiles and historically preserved subway cars. Join the New York Obscura Society Thursday, October 2 for a rare opportunity to explore the Museum's collection after hours as we spend an evening celebrating the wonders of the early 20th century, the rise of the electrical era and the debut of the city's very first electrically-powered subway lines. Featuring hand-picked items and new acquisitions from the Museum of Interesting Things along with one of a kind pieces from the Transit Museum’s own collections, an open bar of Victorian-inspired libations and live music from our favorite local gypsy punks Amour Obscur, this is a night of retro-futuristic wonder truly not to be missed. Period wear is encouraged; dress to impress! This program is presented in partnership with the New York Transit Museum and the Museum of Interesting Things.
