ALEX "EL HEAVY" RAMIREZ, Nacio un 22 de Octubre en Padre Las Casas, Republica Dominicana. Cuando pequeno siempre mostro inquietud por las artes y la musica, al escuchar y ver las presentaciones de la gran maestra Luz Veloz, directora del grupo Amor Y Paz. Francis, como lo llaman en su pueblo, era muy joven y no podia participar en los eventos. Tan solo a los 5 anos emigro con su Padre , Moises Ramirez a la ciudad de Nueva York. Despues de terminar la escuela secundaria en North Bergen, NJ, Alex ingreso a la marina de guerra de los E.U. Al salir del ejercito, he then started as the local dj in 1997 for the e-club in miramar in san diego, where he was discovered by julio martinez and joined Los Principes del Merengue, a prominent band in southern california. He was a member of this band from 1999-2005. Alex took some time off from music and decided to go to college and polish his composing , arranging and overall music skills in san diego city college from 1996-1998. on september 19th of 2008, he debuted with his band Mambo Salvaje at Mangu 809 lounge in downtown san diego, thanks to Bryan Romano, from Romano Ent and Mangu nightclub. Alex y Mambo Salvaje has shared the stage and performed with artists such as Prince Royce, Aventura, Raul Acosta, Amarfis y banda Attakke, Grupo Niche, Machito ruiz, Unique, Sonorra Carruseles, Oscar de Leon, Gilberto Santa rosa, just to name a few. Mambo Salvajes 1st cd was released in october of 1999 and the 2nd cd is in the works y sera dedicado a su madre, la Profesora Lesbia Lebron y su adorado pueblo de Padre Las Casas, Azua. Alex y mambo salvaje currently performs in Club Caribe, Cafe Sevilla, Harrahs Casino, Rumba Lounge and is the most popular and recognized merengue y bachata band in all of southern california. Mambo salvaje dancers Angie and Amelia have performed in numerous competitions all over southern california, and are members of san diegos premier dancing team The Salsa Divas and ALMA LATINA.
