TERMINATRYX

A new breed of South African music. With no band in their home country sounding like them, in 2002 TERMINATRYX set out to create their own blend of a love for heavy & electronic music, fused with that of the moods created by sci-fi / horror / extreme movies + a touch of sexually charged danger to initialize their own dark edged Industrial Metal movement. Since then they have cultivated & sculpted their sound, systematically shaping these unique creations. They've released their self-titled debut album (2008); the "Terminatryx / Nosferatu" DVD (2008, feat. the classic Nosferatu movie with their brand new soundtrack), "Remyx v1.0" (2011, a full remix album of the debut feat. international & South African remixers); "Shadow" (2014); "Lucky 13 - Anthology I" (2015) plus compilations like "Kopskoot!" (2008, spearheaded, compiled & produced by Terminatryx, it feat. heavy music genres with Afrikaans vocals), "Ladies First" (2013, German compilation), "Die Kind Is Nog Jonger" (2016 compilation tribute to poet Ingrid Jonker). 2017 saw the release of "Remyx v2.0", remixes of the "Shadow" album. The band has performed across South Africa and in Germany, and was selected to support international acts like Ministry, VNV Nation, Sheep On Drugs, Diary Of Dreams, Sigue Sigue Sputnik, and played festivals like Metal 4 Africa's Summerfest and Winterfest events, RAMfest, and Witchfest (alongside bands like Cannibal Corpse, Epica, Septic Flesh). Terminatryx also perform live soundtracks to classic silent horror films at their HorrorFest film festival as The Makabra Ensemble (with collaborators). 2018 the band is entering a new chapter in its 16th year.
