POPROX HAWAII is Hawaii's hottest 80s TOURING SHOWGROUP featuring shows packed with hits that continue to play at every nightclub throughout the world.
Our tour experiences have taken us to the Middle East performing in Kuwait & Qatar in 2022 and 2023 for our U.S. Military soldiers.
We've also performed in Paris, France at Le Cavern in the heart of the city.
We currently perform in many of Honolulu’s venues: the EAST SIDE BAR & GRILL in Kaneohe, the HILTON TAPA BAR in Waikiki, the RED ZONE Sports Bar & Grill at Royal Kunia Waipahu, the MANGO STREET GRILL in Wahiawa, the HARD ROCK CAFE in Waikiki, and in special events at the HAWAII CONVENTION CENTER.

JOHN R BORJA: I am the founder, bandleader, lead guitarist & lead vocalist of POPROX HAWAII. I've headlined at Disneyland Anaheim's Tomorrowland, in Paris, France, Southern California, Hawaii, Reno, Laughlin, Denver, Las Vegas, Tahiti, Guam, Tokyo & Hiroshima, Japan. I've also toured the Northwestern U.S. and Canada, and performed in concerts as Music Director and lead guitarist for Stevie Wonder, and also performed with Chaka Khan in Hollywood. My show groups have opened concerts for The Doobie Brothers, America, Ronnie Laws, Norman Brown, and Spyro Gyra.
I have published (2) CDs under the Tahitian Dreams record label, and I am a writer & producing member of ASCAP since 1991 with multiple credits on recordings with several artists. I have written, produced and co-produced music for PBS Television, Polynesia Premiere TV and RFO France TV. I am a proud endorsee of Brian Moore Custom Guitars. NOELANI "NOE" HOBBS: Our hot new female lead vocalist has performed in special events at the Blue Note in Waikiki and now brings a beautiful visual presence and powerful vocal energy to POPROX HAWAII.
Formerly a cheerleader for the Seattle Seahawks NFL team for 2 seasons while attending the University of Washington, Noe also performs in local stage productions including "Doctors-On-Stage" where funds raised supports the Bayanihan Clinic Without Walls, a clinic that offers free medical and dental services to newly arrived legal immigrants who cannot afford health insurance. She is the Vice President of the Philippine Medical Association of Hawaii. Born and raised on Oahu, Noe is Filipina and African American, a Pearl City High School graduate and a Family Physician in Waipahu serving the Filipino community.
BENJAMIN "BENJI" JUAN: Honolulu’s hardest working drummer and back up vocalist from Ewa Beach, Hawaii, has been with POPROX HAWAII since its inception in October 2015. He had previously performed with the Society of Seven, the Hawaii show group "HONOLULU" and with SHAKKA the Santana Tribute. Benji is an endorsee of the ROLAND VAD-506 for Systems Integration Engineering in Honolulu and for Roland US. He models his drumming skills after our good friend, the great Jonathan Moffett, drummer for Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, Madonna, and Cameo.
VICTOR KEVIN EFFLER: Bassist, Keyboardist and lead vocalist. Victor joined POPROX HAWAII in September 2022 to be with us for all our national & international tours. Victor is also a well-known FOH and Stage engineer for Sea Life Park and for the Hawaii Convention Center.
