Born Virginia Mae Monroe Kowal on September 29/1986 in Salem VA. She was meant to be HEARD. She was meant to be a STAR. Raised in Lexington Kentucky, Virginia Mae started singing when she was very young. She was always in chorus or harambe choir in school. She was always humming and singing all the time. Her mother Co-signed her to a record label known as "Black Bottom Records" by the name of Lady V at the tender age of 14. When she was 17 years old she released her first album Lady V "Treat A Lady Like A Lady". It sold out in stores and on the internet "internationally". She went to school during the day stayed in the studio during the evenings if she wasn't on the road traveling to a show.
She has worked with various artists. She has traveled many places including Seattle Washington to do a collaboration with a French artist.
Now at the age of 38 and after a few years away from the scene, she's reinventing herself after going by the name of Passion Mae for over a decade. She is now simply Mae Monroe. Her 25 (+) year career has brought her many wonderful opportunities. Such as, being blessed to attend a few BET hip hop awards weekends in ATL. Talent shows she won. She also opened up for John Legends brother Vaughn Anthony in Charelston West Va.
Since then she has released several mixtapes & various cover projects. Her favorite cover project to date was produced under Cashflow Cartel Enterprises out of Lexington KY.
