AWAKEN was formed in 2009 by vocalist Glenn DaGrossa, founding member and chief songwriter. Awaken was signed to Mausoleum Records in June 2012 and released their self titled CD worldwide in November of the same year. Awaken is a Power/Progressive Metal band that Kerrang! magazine hailed as “one of the quintessential metal bands of our time.” With DaGrossa's soaring vocals and stellar song craftsmanship, blazing Guitar solos featuring Eric Gillette, powerful rhythm section of Bassist Eddie Jucius and Drummer Mike Marrone, and the addition of Keyboardist Andrew Colyer, Awaken has created 90 minutes of cinematic, melodic metal masterpiece. With considerable national and international touring and recording experience under their collective belts, AWAKEN is primed for the world stage, ready to lead and redefine the lines of Progressive Metal. 2019 Begins with the limited release of The new Double CD entitled " Out Of The Shadows " as Awaken searches for a new label to call home. This sophomore release is buzzing through out the metal community as one of the most anticipated metal albums. The new Double CD will feature Guitarist Eric Gillette from the Neil Morse Band and world renown percussionist Gumbi Ortiz from Al Dimeola band. On stage, Awaken has become one of the most sought after supporting acts on tour. Awaken joined the sold out Xfinity Tour supporting legendary rockers Uriah Heep and also supported Major Label acts such as Queensryche, Fates Warning, Kamelot, Adrenaline Mob, Dokken, Winger, Finntroll, UFO, Pain of Salvation, Jeff Scott Soto just to name a few.
