Alex Shaw

Meet Alex Shaw, a 16 year old guitarist whose determination to follow in the footsteps of many of the great guitar legends, has earned him national and international acclaim since the age of 8. With hundreds of performances under his belt, Alex has been wowing audiences and industry professionals from coast to coast and abroad, astonishing even the most seasoned musicians. His passion for blues and rock sets him apart from most young artists and allows him to connect with audiences of all ages. By age 9, Alex had earned an artist endorsement with Samick Music Corporation, becoming the company's youngest endorser. With this title, Alex has had the privilege of attending the NAMM Show (National Association of Music Merchants) in Anaheim, CA, since 2011 where he demonstrates Silvertone guitars for the tens of thousands of industry professionals in attendance each year. At just 10 years old, Alex had the honor of sharing the stage with legendary saxophonist and long time member of Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band, Clarence Clemons, in a concert to benefit the Kid's Cancer Foundation. In 2011, Alex was discovered by Barbara Strauss, executive producer for the Sarasota Blues Fest, and was chosen to be featured in her current project, a kid's TV pilot called "Harmony's Kitchen; a show that features child prodigy musical talents. During the shoot, Alex was privileged to work and record with legendary producer Bud Snyder (Allman Bros) and Berry Oakley Jr. (son of Allman Bros. bassist) as well as appearing as one of the opening acts for the 21st Annual Sarasota Blue Fest. It is traditional for the Blues Fest to invite a young musical prodigy to open the show and Alex was honored to be in the line-up with such great national acts as Shaun Murphy (Little Feat, Meatloaf, Bob Seger) and grammy award winning band, Los Lobos. Also in 2011, Alex's Youtube videos also caught the attention of the producers of the Ellen Degeneres Show, which led to numerous interviews with interest regarding Alex making an appearance on the Ellen Show. He has also been sought after by the casting directors of America's Got Talent and numerous other national TV shows. At age 12, Alex toured the Chicago area with the School of Rock All-Stars and has appeared at Metro Chicago, Lollapalooza 2013, and The Gathering of the Vibes Music Festival 2014 in Connecticut. His first international experience came in 2013, when he performed at the FREX Exhibition in Fredericton, Canada. In March of 2013, Alex was invited to perform at Runaway Country, a three-day music festival which featured headlining bands such as Lynyrd Skynyrd, Lady Antebellum, Charlie Daniels, Dierks Bentley, Sara Evans, Billy Currington, Craig Morgan, and more. While performing at this event he was noticed by the writers and photographers from US Rockstar Magazine, which landed him a featured story in the June 2013 issue of the magazine. Alex has performed nationally at numerous historic venues such as BB King's Blues Club (West Palm Beach, Orlando), Seminole Hard Rock Casino (Hollywood, Florida) Bitter End (NYC's oldest and most famous rock club), and Elvis Presley's Graceland (Memphis, TN) to name a few. Alex has also performed at conventions in Nashville, Las Vegas, and New York City. Other credits include having the honor of being a guest performer at TEDx in Delray Beach, Florida. Alex has also played the World Famous Whisky A-Go Go in West Hollywood, CA, with the sensational Dallas based teen rock band, The Robotix, a project he has been involved with since 2013. Alex recently won the 2016 Dallas International Guitar Festival's Top 10 under 20 Guitar Competition. This competition, sponsored by Toyota and Reverend guitars, included ten of the country's top young guitarists under the age of 20. By unanimous vote, Alex proudly captured this prestigious title earning himself a featured spot in the festival's 2017 lineup. Some of Alex's most recent accomplishments are; auditioning for the legendary Phil Collins and being one of 14 young artists chosen to be a part of the Little Dreams Foundation, which is an organization founded in 2000 by Phil and his wife Orianne, to help mentor and give performance opportunities to young aspiring artists. Alex also appeared as the opening act for rapper Vanilla Ice at the 2016 WinterFest, as well as Vanilla Ice's annual holiday block party and toy drive benefitting the Little Smiles Foundation. When in Florida, Alex performs live with a band he created, THE ALEX SHAW PROJECT, a group of hand picked, rock solid, teen musicians who are rockin' to keep the classics alive! This high energy teen rock/blues band has performed at numerous local venues including; The South Florida Fair, Downtown at the Gardens and the Coral Sky Amphitheater's VIP lounge for the VAN HALEN, CHICAGO, EARTH, WIND & FIRE, the COUNTING CROWS, and the CHEAP TRICK/ FOREIGNER concerts and are available for bookings by contacting AlexShawMusic@aol.com. Now at only only 16 years old, and recently returning from Shanghai, China, where he was invited to represent Silvertone guitars and perform at Music China 2016, (Asia's largest music convention) and at the famous Mao LiveHouse, Alex has put more miles on the map than most accomplished adult performers. He is an old soul, mature beyond his years, with a unique professional work ethic that has gained the respect of industry professionals around the world. It is safe to say that, with Alex Shaw at the helm, the future of music is in good hands. www.facebook.com/alexshawmusic @alexshawmusic on instagram
