Right now, Husky is celebrating the release of ‘Forever So’ in the USA, the UK and Europe after becoming the first Australian band to sign to seminal Seattle-based label, Sub Pop. The boys are coasting along endless highways in the USA, drinking oceans of filtered coffee in roadside diners, playing headline shows and winning hearts along the way. With Pitchfork saying their music is “bursting with feeling” and Rolling Stone saying their album was like a “Nick Drake-esque fairytale delivered with full indie-orchestration”, Husky will next tour Europe and the UK before heading home. Touring won’t stop there for the band. In October, they return to Australia for a series of special shows in celebration of the single, ‘Tidal Wave’. With its hum-along harmonies and surprise psychedelic midsection, the song captures time gone by and looking back at one’s past. Husky’s live show is crafted to take audiences on a journey through captivating song. This has earned the Australian quartet critical praise for their “lush… warm and evocative” (Sydney Morning Herald) and “outstanding” (Beat Magazine) performances.
Husky enters a new chapter of their career in 2012. Last year they played national sold out headline tours in Australia, following the release of their debut album Forever So, they supported world-class acts including Gotye, Devandra Banhart, and Noah & The Whale and played at some of Australia's biggest music festivals. Already in 2012 the band has supported Laura Marling and booked performances at St Jerome's Laneway Festival, SXSW and CMW. The imminent release of Forever So in Europe and North America on seminal label, Sub Pop, marks the start of this next chapter and makes them the first-ever Australian band to be signed by the label.
