Hopetoun - From the Big Easy to the Cesspool of Sin - New Orleans-based, 8 piece funk-eclectic band, Hopetoun, is getting ready to make waves this October with the release of a new full length LP record: "From the Big Easy to the Cesspool of Sin". The group's front man David Einzig moved to Asheville about 2 years ago with a strong drive to keep Hopetoun's music alive and to create something new. Teaming up with keyboardist/producer - Lenny Pettinelli, Einsig formed Magenta Sunshine and released a fantastically well-rounded EP in March. He has also been a key contributor to the Vibration of Versatility (VOV) collective recording project on v.1 and v.3. Although his flow of original music was steady it wasn't enough to stifle the need for his brand of New Orleans grooves. Upon showing Pettinelli his old material, the two of them decided to make a trip down to New Orleans to record an album at Word of Mouth Studios. With the addition of Pettinelli's keys and production and Asheville music veteran, JP Furnas (Empire Strikes Brass, Dub Cartel, & common Foundation) on trombone, it was officially a collaboration between two cities: NOLA and AVL.
Three CD's to be release with individual members of Magenta Sunshine releasing original songs on Vibration of Versatility, Volume 3, Reggae Compilation. Also being released, Songwriter record and Jazz record. All Original, all Love.
Live original music outside, in the back of Wicked Weed. Downtown Asheville! Show starts at 2pm with Magenta Sunshine!
