The Frisbys / Bio

Fronted by twin sisters Helen and Nicola Frisby, The Frisbys, are an alt-folk/pop band from South London. Their debut E.P ‘Philosolove’ was released last year and met with much success, featuring as ‘new and noteworthy’ on ITunes, reaching 45 in the singer songwriter charts and receiving radio play from Amazing Radio, Team Rock Radio and BBC Radio stations.

The Frisbys have received wide support from blogs and press, with their title track ‘Philosolove’ being chosen for Fatea Magazine’s Showcase Sessions and For Folk’s Sake’s song of the day feature. The band were also recently selected for a lime light feature in Prog Magazine’s 50th edition.

With the band drawing comparisons to Fleetwood Mac, First Aid Kit and The Staves, The Frisbys are quickly gaining a reputation on the folk circuit for their striking song writing and stirring harmonies. The past two years have seen The Frisbys support artists including Mark Chadwick (The Levellers), and Eamonn Coyne and Kris Drever (LAU) and Messenger, in beautiful and established venues such as The Natural History Museum, The Borderline and St Pancras Old Church.

The Frisbys are currently in the process of recording their much anticipated 6 track E.P ‘The Cause’, due for release in 2015.

‘Philosolove brings together the gorgeous folksy sensitivity of Fotheringay, the quirkiness of Fiona Apple and the story telling of 70s singer songwriters (…) once you’ve heard them in action we’re sure you’ll want to bathe in their beautiful sound.’ - Prog Magazine.

‘... moving, uplifting, and haunting... I was blown away’ – Thank Folk For That

‘Beautiful sound - steeped in English folk traditions’. - For Folk’s Sake
