“Kid Tested, Mother Approved "The Post Falls band goes big, stuffing 23 songs onto Kid Tested, Mother Approved, split into sections called " Songs for the Playground and Songs for Timeout. They probably could have picked the dozen best to make for a stronger et overall, but their youthful exuberance comes through loud and clear in the guitar-centric tunes and lyrics to songs like "Clarissa Joan Hart" and "Nickelodean." The album was released last month.”
“Too great for words! Has to be experienced to understand the full measure of passion and power in their music! Listen closely people, this is THE band! Original music, demanding attention and commanding response---no labels, no gimmicks, no BS---just straight up power! Love "Stood You!" and "I can't" great vocals!”
“'Ritalin' If we learned nothing from the early 90s, we learned a firm anchor of guitar fuzz could keep you straddling the line of punk and pop without falling over one direction or another. And the Colourflies epitomize that. Beyond the well flavored guitars, the Colourflies “DIY” attitude and complete lack of affectation keeps an edge on the music that keeps the listener drawn into the song. I can only describe their song ‘Ritalin’ as “stuff that I like”, rather than compare it any specific song or band. Although, the Colourflies can easily stand alongside any number of todays most notable bands. ”
"Built to Spill" this song with its intense driving rythym and vocal harmonies deliver a musical message straight to the nervous system that can only be acknowledged by gettin' up and rockin' with it.
“...an alternative rock band, The Colourflies.”
