Dean, Thanks for the offer to add my advice. I really don't know where to begin. Way back in the 60's thru 80's, when I was doing what you're doing, I pretty much played anywhere that could afford me. We practiced one day a week and usually added one song each week. That way we added about 52 songs a year to our repertoire and kept reasonably current with the new tunes coming out. That's hard to do today since the new stuff sucks eggs. Your playing is great so its hard to give advice on that. The only thing that I remember the great guitarists telling me was "Don't play something; just say something". I just listened to every guitarist I could and never tried to copy any of them. I wanted to be as good as Larry Carlton but I didn't want to be Larry Carlton. Now I'm old enough and just jaded enough to play what I like and let the rest of the guys play the stuff I don't like. I pretty much like to sit around and play chord solos and a little funk and a little blues.
