Trip to France: $2,000. Hotel with a view of the Eiffel tower: $600 a night. Bottle of champagne: $100. Night in Paris in the city of New York being mesmerized and serenaded by Floanne: priceless. Treat yourself to a night in Paris without even leaving home. The French Chanteuse envelopes you with style and originality that eases you into a relaxed mood and leaves at the end of the night full of romance and forgetting where you are and where you came from… like in a Woody Allen movie.
In her new show «Love is French», Floanne explores, rather academically… love. In a jazz cabaret show of French chanson with a a comedic flavor, a lot of personality and romantic overtones , Floanne takes you on a journey of love through time in the French culture, with songs originally performed by Edith Piaf, Juliette Greco, Charles Trenet and so many more great writers. So whether you are treating yourself or another, come and revisit love from where it first originated–France–because after all, French is the language of love, and Love is French.
Floanne is an authentic French chanteuse. She sings original songs and vintage tunes with a modern twist. She made her off-Broadway debut performing her solo show Edith Piaf Alive, for Joe’s Pub at the Public Theater. On October 27, she will be starring in the Broadway-scale musical Loving the Silent Tears at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles alongside Jon Secada and Jody Watley. Sold out venues include the New York Botanical Garden, Joe’s Pub, the Triad Theater and the Metropolitan Room, where she holds a monthly residency. She also performed at the exclusive Harmonie Club and Symphony Space. Floanne studies opera voice as a coloratura soprano with April Evans, and honed her craft as a nightclub singer with Lina Koutrakos, Isengart, and her rotating band of Jazz musicians. She has been on NPR, For Your Ears Only, as well as French national television. She works as an actress and director under the name Flo Ankah.
