Sponsored by Horizon Bank and The Livery, this is a musical group “not to be missed.” Elaine Dame, a Chicago-based jazz vocalist, originally from Stevensville, MI has been a mainstay of Chicago jazz scene for the last fifteen years. Time Out Chicago said, “Vocal dynamo Dame continues to be a gem in the city’s vocal jazz scene.” Neil Tesser, author of The Playboy Guide to Jazz, said: “Dame has quietly risen to the top rank of Chicago jazz singers. She possesses all the musicality you could want in a true jazz singer: centered intonation, an enviable command of rhythm and a translucent but powerful instrument.”
Her debut recording, Comes Love, on Chicago’s own Blue Jazz record label was released to wide critical acclaim and world-wide radio play. “Her joy in the act of singing is obvious throughout the entirety of Comes Love….” (Jazz Improv Magazine).
"Saxophonist and composer Chris Greene began playing saxophone at age 10 and studied at Indiana University with renowned professor, cellist and jazz educator David Baker. Greene has immersed himself in the regional music scene and has since collaborated with some of the nation’s most creative and versatile musicians. He leads his own critically-acclaimed group, The Chris Greene Quartet, and has also performed or recorded with the following artists: Common, The Temptations, Sheena Easton, Steve Cole, Michael Manson, Andrew Bird, The J. Davis Trio, Typhanie Monique, Zach Brock, Chris Rob, Vic Lavender, Jesse De La Pena, Liquid Soul and The Mighty Blue Kings."
