The band’s first album, The Crossing, with its signature song, “In A Big Country,” sold more than 2 million copies in 1983. Since that time, the band has toured Europe extensively, with many hits. Big Country has sold more than 5 million albums. The band performed at Live Aid, was a favorite opening act in the UK for the Rolling Stones and for Led Zeppelin’s Jimmy Page and Robert Plant.
The group released a new album last month. The Journey is the first studio recording for the band in 14 years.
Rolling Stone magazine’s Melanie Deziel wrote about one of the new songs, "Hurt."
“The message in Hurt is strong and supportive: ‘No one can hurt you now/ No one can bring you down.’ The heavy guitar, a trademark of the group since they formed in 1981, is also on full display,” Deziel wrote. Listen to "Hurt" by Big Country.
