Classes and seminars on tai-chi, qui-gun, yoga, permaculture, sustainable living, renewable energy, and meditation will provide an interactive village to enhance the festival atmosphere. Taliesin began in the spring of 2012 with a full day and night of musical performances in Concord, VA, marking the start of a progressive vision of grassroots activism and community building. Through free thought, artistic expression, and an open-minded approach to cooperation and positive change, socially, environmentally, and technologically; the mission of Taliesin Fest is to embody creativity in its rawest and most potent form by fostering mindful living, promoting local entrepreneurs, and creating a solid foundation for transformative action. Adhering to this mission, the festival includes an eco-friendly campground, as well as booths dedicated to local food vendors, artists, and artisans. In an attempt to get students from local colleges involved through the sustainability initiatives at their own schools, part of the event proceeds will be donated to Lynchburg College's Claytor Nature Study Center, a 470-acre conservation plot at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
