Women In The Round Friday Aug 29 | 7:30pm • $15/20 Featuring: Sandy Scofield, Renae Morrisseau, Niska Napoleon and Dalannah Gail Bowen Dr. Sun Yat Sen Garden, 578 Carrall St In partnership with the Dr. Sun Yat Sen Garden, the Downtown Eastside Centre for the Arts has created an evening to celebrate the voices of indigenous women; award-winning female indigenous women vocalists who have travelled the world sharing their lives and stories through their songs. The evenings concert will include Juno award-winning vocalist, actor, director and general powerhouse Renae Morriseau, musicologist, technique expert, teacher and vocalist Sandy Scofield, rising star with loads of talent Niska Napoleon and Dalannah Gail Bowen who is a veteran of the Vancouver music scene recently winning the right to represent BC at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis. Jasmine tea and fortune cookies will be included for the evening. Filled with variety and commonalities, this event promises an evening of the sound of rich voices and magical moments.
