LMJ3/SteampunkFUNK Biz…

LMJ3/SteampunkFUNK Bizarre

Performing from the infancy of Steampunk, Monty has more than earned his title of “Godfather of Steampunk Funk": he is the creator and international purveyor of SteampunkFunk Bizarre, Victorian Rap and assorted lyrical conundrums. As early as 2013, Steampunk Chronicles' named him as a “person to watch”...and the world has done exactly that. This US based performer mixes patter, Victorian subject matter, includes a danceable funk backbeat, adds British “music hall” audience participation and stand-up comedy, so even the “uninitiated” will understand “what it’s all about”.. The evening’s entertainment is a delicious comedic confection of funk, soul and just plain fun! Monty has entertained Steampunk audiences in the US, UK, EU, DE, NL, FR, and Luxembourg. He was invited to Oamaru, New Zealand for 3 consecutive years to headline in the largest Steampunk festival in the Southern hemisphere: Monty for 2 years "played Vegas" headlining at the Main Street Station Hotel and Casino for Steamathon. He has also headlined, MC'd and shared stages with Steampunk legends Professor Elemental, Victor and the Bully, Frenchy and the Punk; Dale Rowles/BB Blackdog, Canada’s premiere “shock rock” band, the New Jacobin Club with Xerxes Praetorius Horde (just to name a few!) and a host of other international Steampunk headliners. Major Steampunk venues have included (USA) COGSexpo, Teslacon: UK/EU venues include Alt-Fest, DESC (Dutch-Euro Steampunk Convention), Whitby Steampunk Weekend, Asylum/Lincoln Steampunk Weekend, Steampunk Summer Solstice, Aetherfest, Emporium Vernesque, Nox Victoriana Judicio as well as a host of upscale (and one or two “not so upscale”) pubs, clubs and intimate cabarets over 4 continents. As if this were not enough, he has appeared in a 200+ page photographic novel “The Imaginarium - Book I - Eva’s Story” created by one of England’s most accomplished contemporary photographers, Gary Nicholls AND is a key figure in a soon-to-be-released movie, a Steampunk retelling of Jules Verne’s “From the Earth to the Moon” by accomplished director Brian Michael Finn.
