“THIS WEEK: WE RECAP LAST WEEKEND'S MILLENNIUM MUSIC CONFERENCE! Here is the recap of the February 20 program: With no guests scheduled this week, we took the opportunity to check out some of the new CD's and other recordings that have arrived at "Homegrown Rocker" headquarters in recent weeks. We thus debuted many new songs, from such names as PA. Crude, Riley Roth, Dustin Wagner, Sterling Koch, Nick Miller, Faith In Exile, X-Terra and Mysterytrain. We updated Local Music News, dug a 1995 song by Riot Act from the archive for a "Local Music Flashback," stepped "Across State Lines" to hear a song from Brooklyn's Yarn, and reviewed Halestorm's live CD/DVD set Live In Philly 2010 in "The Professor's CD Corner." Again, it was two hours of maximum local and regional bands and artists!”

“Port Matilda resident, Riley Roth recently took first place in the WBUT Colgate Country Showdown local qualifier held at the Succop Theater on July 8, 2010. The Colgate Country Showdown is the nation's largest and longest running country music talent search that gives aspiring country music artists in America a chance to launch their professional careers. Competing against 8 other contestants, Riley sang “Broken Wing” by Martina McBride, and an original song she wrote called “Butterflies”. She will now represent WBUT at the State level of the contest to be held at Hershey Park on September, 11. She will compete against all local winners in Pennsylvania for the chance to move on to the Regional level of the contest. ”
