“Well today is the day for thoughtful composers ... Orchestra Rocks comes in a bound book with all the parts stapled inside so you can't lose them. You are then free to photocopy the other parts, which is rightly or wrongly what lots of people do already ... This piece is elementary standard-wise, being aimed at pre-grade one musicians ... It covers most instruments from cello to saxophone. It is a light-hearted piece and could well be many musicians' first experience of group playing. Obviously any rehearsal of this little number must begin with the conductor exclaiming "orchestra, are you ready to rock, say yeah!". Lively and fun, forget your baroque if the orchestra rocks.”
