What makes a band Funky Jazzy Rock Blues & Edgy Sounding Edgy bands usually sound that way because of the interaction between the drummer and bass. If you have a good drummer and good bass, you have the edgy jazz blues sound that takes you off the edge and it's a good thing. Lots of bands have it, so mark my words and hold onto your St. Christopher medals when you hear a funky jazzy rock blues band come on the radio! Blues Rock Jazz Blues Funk Blues Rock types of groups don't usually play for the Los Angeles Junior Philharmonic when they were kids! ALL of the rock classics from Hendrix, Zeppelin, Sabbath, Deep Purple, Jeff Beck and the list goes on and on it's all clearly there, so what makes it happen? For example, a group like The Mark Christopher Band fits the bill! That's Mark Christopher Band's normal progress. The cosmos said it all when they played that Crazy Train song and the train toots by, Kismet is what we call it, and then the band knew they were on the right "track"! I'm sure a jazzy funk band like Mark Christopher Band will never forget their first time in the spotlight, it's an exciting feeling and when you feel it, they feel it, so according to the bass player, "We were playing a backyard party with hundreds of people in City of Commerce. It got busted when police helicopters were flying overhead with their spotlights on us! We just looked up and waved to them, as 20 cop cars pulled up out front and broke it up!" BEST JAZZ FUNK MARK CHRISTOPHER BAND TALKS MUSIC SHOP! Funk Jazz Rock group Mark Christopher Band oh so edgy what a sound, what a band, what a lyric, what a face, they are all sooo cute. I asked Mark Christopher Band to reflect on first getting started in the music industry. I found out that one of the band members played for the Los Angeles Junior Philharmonic when he was a kid, which enriched his mind with the sounds of classic music that when sped up turns into a sort of odd Funky Blues Rock group like MARK CHRISTOPHER BAND is. Mark Christopher has also been influenced by heavy blues, he is a Bluesman. His story led him directly to starting his own band with it's offbeat and cool riffs because of his influence when growing up playing ALL of the rock classics from Hendrix, Zeppelin, Sabbath, Deep Purple, Jeff Beck and the list goes on and on. Bass Player Phil Friedland has played with Mark Christopher since he was 19 years old so the influence is clearly there. The group knew magic was at hand, because years ago The Mark Christopher Band was playing a set of classic jazz blues songs at a backyard party in Pico Rivera when all of a sudden a cool thing happened as they started playing Ozzy's "Crazy Train". Then, you guessed it, a real freight train speeds by during the song! The crowd went NUTS! It was the greatest live show you can be at! That's Mark Christopher Band's normal progress.
