Treefort! Tees! Downloads! Stickers! Screen Prints!

We are excited to bring to you our latest single, "Remembering the Sound," which features guest appearances from Ken Stringfellow and Jon Auer of The Posies!

We recorded this song last November and were lucky enough to twist the arms of Ken and Jon while they were in Boise doing a Pop Up Show...they graciously agreed to take part in the recording session after their fantastically EPIC house show.  We bundled ourselves into the a.k.a. Belle-mobile and headed up to Tonic Room Recording Studio where Jason Ringelstetter (who is a huge Posies fan, as it happens) awaited us at the controls.  Several hours later, we had a sweet sounding song - with Ken on organ and Jon on guitar, respectively.

This track will be released on March 22nd as a downloadable single only, but it will also be available on a download card with the option of purchasing either a sticker or limited edition screen print by local Boise artist, Ameerah Bader.  These items will be for sale at The Record Exchange or at shows!

We will also have another run of "The Devil Loves You" tee shirts available just in time for Treefort Music Festival -- we play on Friday, March 24th -- so come see us - you can pick up all your a.k.a. Belle merch needs then!  And say hi!

We play tomorrow night in downtown Boise, Idaho

We're really looking forward to performing Friday, November 14th at The Crux! We have a special set planned and endeavor to entertain you, delight you, make you smile and be happy you're alive! We're also playing with some acts who we recommend checking out - opening duo Evil-Liza are from Boise and play electronica inspired by Radiohead and Goldfrapp; headlining touring band from Nashville, so named Tristen due to their frontwoman being - yes - Tristen - sweet catchy and smart...highly recommended. Also, it may get weird. So that's another good reason to head to The Crux, which is an All Ages venue located on Main Street & 11th in Boise. Come fly your freak flag. Music starts around 8pm...

We have shows coming up! check our facebook page for details!

We are so excited, we can barely contain ourselves! Tonight at 6pm we will play songs from 'Disappearing Night' live at The Record Exchange, in downtown Boise. We have special guests Thomas Paul, Steve Fulton, Kayleigh Jack, and our amazing rythym section Chris Galli on stand up bass and Michael Rundle on drums!!! The star of the show is the tympani, though -- no one can resist wanting to play it. It's caused many a fight at rehearsals -- we've been like children all fighting over the same toy. The Record Exchange is one of my favorite places on the planet, and Boise is so lucky to have this locally owned, independent record store! So, to be able to do our release party here is a huge honor for us -- please support your local record store!! Payette Brewing Company will be supplying free beer for 21+ with ID but the event is ALL AGES and free. We will have cds, dvds, posters and stickers available -- special prices for bundles of merch! See you there, and if you can't make it please check our show listings for the other shows we are playing this weekend!!

radio/cd release

Carl Scheider, the presenter of Idaho Music on KBSU had us in the studio to record a few acoustic versions of our songs. It was aired tonight and it was great! So thank you for having us and for your support, Carl!

Next week we are celebrating the official release of our record, Disappearing Night. We have three shows, and we are looking forward to all of them!! First one is next Thursday at The Record Exchange -- 6pm, free and all ages plus free craft beer for 21+ with ID. Friday we play with New Transit and Storie Grubb & the Holy Wars, two of our fave Boise bands...and Catherine will be duetting with Sean Hatton/New Transit that night, too, on a song they collaborated on, so it's going to be very special indeed. Saturday night we are playing at the Flying M Coffee Garage in Nampa with Like a Rocket, who also released their debut cd recently (Hey Man!). It'll be a fun night of rock n roll!! Hope to see you soon -- we have more exciting news to tell you about, but we'd like to keep you in suspense...

upcoming stuff

We were asked to contribute a song to a compilation being put together by the fine folks at KRBX 89.9 fm RadioBoise, which will feature many other local artists, too! We spent yesterday afternoon doing final mixing on the song and it's being mastered as we speak, so keep an ear out...it'll be ready sooooon! As for the record, we are so close to being done we can SMELL it...well, it could be the artwork drying, but the cover art is done ...and we will be finishing up the mixing next weekend. Estimated street date yet to be determined but before Christmas and we'll have the official record release party in the new year!!!

all work and no play? Nah!

Last nights show at 'the Lux' was super fun! We really appreciated seeing some familiar faces and sure loved making new friends. For those of you who were there, you'll be glad to know that I have returned to my normal size and didn't require transport home in an open topped vehicle. ; ) Today we are in the studio, AudioLab, doing final mixes and we are pretty excited to finally get this record to this stage. We are really hoping for a pre-Christmas release...fingers crossed!!!

Thursday November 10

Getting ready for a long but fun day! Co-hosting the KRBX 89.9fm radio show, Mothers Ruin, with the lovely Stephanie Coyle, today from 1-4. We'll be greeting Lydia Loveless as she comes in to do a bit of singing and talking on air. a.k.a. Belle are Lydia's opening band tonight, so I am looking forward to meeting her. For those of you who haven't heard her, she's a little like Neko Case with the edgy-punkiness of early Lone Justice (Maria McKee's band from long ago). Twang with a punch to the gut swiftly following. Neurolux--tonight--8pm--$5

today is the last day of radiothon on radio boise 89.9fm

Big day as we push towards our goal on Mothers Ruin--for those of you who don't know, I--Catherine Merrick-- co-host that show on Radio boise 89.9fm, with my good friend and GoListenBoise colleague Stephanie Coyle from 1-4pm. Radio Boise is on its final day of the weeklong fund drive and I am urging anyone who cares about independent music, programming & non commercial independent radio, to show some support! The station is Boise's first real community radio station and really keeps going mostly through listener support, so if you can dig deep and help keep us on the air, you'll be helping to keep our community alive and vibrant, too! Stephanie and I play a lot of local music as well as themed tunes (we have a different theme each week--for instance, this week it is songs about the moon) and we have live guests in the studio, being interviewed and sometimes playing live. Please check it out! It's fun. We are on 89.9fm from 1-4pm every Thursday!
