People don’t dance enough. How much is enough? Well at least as many days of the week that you want to walk around with a smile on your face. Seriously, when’s the last time you saw a bunch of grumpy people doing the cha cha? Can’t happen. That’s why I say that everyone should set aside a few minutes everyday to dance. Put something nice on to listen to when you’re getting ready for your day. Just something to make you happy and get your feet moving. I’ve got some free downloads that’ll do the trick. http://www.ilike.com/artist/Alma+Villegas+Quartet
Just dance your way through your morning, on the way to your coffee maker, to your computer, while you’re brushing your hair, and you’ll find that by the time you’re heading out the door you can’t help but have a smile on your face.
Keep on dancing.
Latin dance fans rejoice! I’ll be playing in Oak Harbor on Saturday, February 20th at the Skagit Valley College’s “Latin Dance Evening” at the Oak Harbor Elks Lodge (155 N.E. Ernst Street, Oak Harbor, WA) from 7-10 p.m.
Now be sure to get there early because the evening kicks off with a FREE Latin Dance Class at 6:30 right before the show. You’ll be able to learn some fancy new steps then show ‘em off on the dance floor. It promises to be a really fun time so come on over and don’t forget to bring your dancing shoes!
If you can’t make it to Saturday’s show, or if you just
can’t get enough of a good thing, you can catch me again on Friday April 2nd at Egan’s in Ballard.
One of the nice things about Egan’s is that if you’re hungry for more than music, they will feed you. Be sure to get there early (you will need a reservation) and order their Grilled Lamb Rib Chops with Mushroom Risotto (yum). If you want a bit of Latin flavor in your mouth as well as your ears you should get a glass of Estecillo Tinto grenache to go with it. Trust me.
If you’re still hungry after the lamb they have TWO different kinds of chocolate cake on their dessert menu. But don’t eat too much because you still have to dance. See you at the shows!
