The Iveys / Blog

The Iveys Austin adventures, & Tour Dates.

Hope everyone had a great St. Patrick's Day! We were out in Austin for South By Southwest, playing three shows all in one day! It was a lot of fun, and we were happy to be performing for the Austin crowd once again. It had been way too long since we'd been there. The weather was beautiful all week, and the people are always beautiful. Saw some of our amazing family and friends, plus made new friends. Many thanks to you all for the support!

While we were there we didn't just get to play shows, but we got to see some of them too. Counting Crows free show was awesome, and we also got to see our local Austin favorite, Matt the Electrician. Music was everywhere, I wanted to be split into like 50 different me's to be everywhere at once! Now that the craziness of South By Southwest is all wrapped up, our focus is on a tour that will take us from El Paso to Chicago, and all over the Midwest. All upcoming dates are listed below at the very bottom of this email. Take a look and send people our way if you know anyone in the cities where we'll be! Local news: Las Cruces & El Paso!! we play this Saturday, March 24th. 1:00pm to 2:00pm at the El Paso Public Library, Dorris Van Doren branch at 551 East Redd Road. We won't be back again until May, and you know you want one of our new t-shirts before we leave, so come on out there! -- At this Moment in the world of Iveys.....Jillian is writing a song on her acoustic guitar...Jessica is on her laptop.....twisting her finger in her hair...I am writing this newsletter...but I am completely comfy, other than the fact that the gum I'm chewing no longer has any flavor...but I'm not gonna swallow it... ;) --- Constant updates on our facebook page. And pictures too! www.facebook.com/theiveys We would highly appreciate it if you went to our online store and did yourself a big big favor by buying our new cd, or a new t-sshirt...or both! :) here is the link: http://theiveys.bigcartel.com/ Until next time! Short Tour Update, & Iveys Newsletter!

Here is the most recent Iveys Newsletter written on July 25th, during this current tour! We are on the home stretch now, played two shows yesterday in L.A. Now we head over to Arizona for a couple of shows! Below is the letter from the 25th of July as we were driving:) Anybody want to be on The Iveys Newsletter, just send an email to band@theiveysmusic.com

Hey Everybody! How are you all? First I wanna say hi to all the latest members of The Iveys Newsletter!! We played in the carazy town of Eugene last night, and are traveling through Oregon, listening to Traveling Wilburys, going South now, down to California today. We play a show in Eureka, right along the coast! Keeping ourselves decently sane on the road, though sometimes it all blends together on the back to back to back nights. But we're loving it! Seen so many amazing things, and I hope all of you are following us on Facebook, we post pictures and videos, literally we take a pic of us and I can post it right to our facebook page, like the stage we'll be on, or all of us in front of the space needle, and Jill spilling ice cream all down her dress....classic. You don't need a facebook account to view it either, but if you do please "like" us at www.facebook.com/theiveys and suggest our page to your friends too:) We've traveled from Texas to Seattle playing music! Across Nebraska into beautiful Colorado, spent some time with amazing friends, got ourselves into and out of trouble, haha! Went through Salt Lake City, then Boise. Jessica had a birthday out here on the road. Don't worry, we spoiled her a little bit, she had chocolate cake, and blew out all the candles!! (Think it might be a first for her, haha! ;)

Oh, and Seattle was really cool, literally too, haha! Highs in the 60's, sun all afternoon. We stayed with our bass player Eli's family, had such a great time with all of them, and very grateful they were willing to put up with us for a few days. ;) Played 3 shows while we were there and then drove over to Portland for a TV interview on their ABC station! You can see the live song from the morning, and then the primetime slot with a short interview.

This link is the first song we played "Running Out" from our self titled album. http://www.katu.com/amnw/..segments/98762184.html

This link is for our song "Leave It To Love" also from our self-titled album, and a short interview afterwards. http://www.katu.com/amnw/..segments/98762659.html

Everybody at that TV station were good people, and treated us very well too. 3rd time on a TV set for us, definitely a good experience. And we got some of those world famous Voodoo doughnuts! Now California, HERE WE COME!! Have a bunch of California Shows lined up, gonna be fun!

We hit Vegas on Wednesday, Aug. 4th. Then bounce back to L.A. for a show on Friday, August 6th and two more for Saturday, August 7th. Music is why we travel. Got so many more stories, but they can wait:)

Hope to see all of you soon!

Love, Arlen, Jessica, Jillian, Jethro, Frank & Eli, (and of course Cameron too, couldn't do this without him!!) www.facebook.com/theiveys www.myspace.com/theiveys

Time for Summer Touring!

We've been itching to get back on the road for the past few weeks now, only been home for a bit after over two and a half months on the road already this year. Have a bunch of shows lined up as we will be making our way to the West Coast during our Summer Tour, excited to be back out there meeting new people, playing our music, city to city, state to state. All shows are listed on our myspace page at www.myspace.com/theiveys also here on ReverbNation! Questions about gig times or anything else, we got you covered, just shoot us a message, here, myspace, www.facebook.com/theiveys - also email band@theiveysmusic.com Love the World Today! -Arlen, Jessica & Jillian

Okay here we go!:

So, I'm here, (This is Jill by the way) working on ReverbNation. The site suggested I write a Blog so that's what I am doing, of course I don't actually know if any of you will read it or not but I thought "What the heck might as well, right?" So today is pretty much a typical day, we have a show coming up tonight, but we're still working hard getting shows for our fall tour which we are getting very excited about!!:) One of the shows I am looking forward to is definitely the one we are having Oct.2nd w/ the Eli Young Band at the New Mexico State fair!! It will be kind of crazy cause we will be in Florida the 28th of Sept. and we'll have to drive all the way back but I really don't mind because it's not like I will be having to drive!! ha ha! Well I thought in the first blog I would be a little more impressive but I guess that's just not me! Next time I will write something very poetic, well I will try to anyway but usually my sarcasm wins out!! For now this first blog will have to do, sorry I hope no one is to disappointed! Jill
