We're looking at our calendar between now and the end of the year. When no one was watching we got booked for quite a few shows - five between now and the end of the year. We're getting requests that we never would have imagined just a few short months ago.
We aren't sure exactly where this is heading, but we love that we get to create new music and share it with you. Thank you for coming out to see us and for telling others about Octahedron.
Wherever we go we will always remember these days and your support. Love you!
We had a great time last night playing at the Korova. We really appreciate the guys from Rare Monk stopping by to watch our set. They were encouraging beyond words and we look forward to our paths crossing again sometime. We really dig their music and want to encourage you to check them out at http://www.reverbnation.com/raremonk. Peace!
First off, thanks for your ongoing support of Octahedron. It has meant more to us than you can possibly imagine. We could not have won the Battle of the Bands last night without the support and presence of friends and family. Now, on to the next step and what we would like to ask you to help us with.
The final round of the Battle of the Bands will be on Saturday, December 28 at Jack's Patio Bar. Once again when we play that night will be based on tickets sales.
You did an AMAZING job of supporting us this weekend. We'd like you to consider helping us out by:
1) Saving the date: 12.28.13
2) Purchasing tickets from Octahedron
3) Spreading the word to get as many people there for Octahedron as possible
Please let us know if you have any questions.
We're just a few days away from our first Battle of the Bands and the excitement is building. We'd be lying if we said we weren't interested in the outcome. Of course we would love to move on to the second round in December.
More importantly, though, we are excited to get to play with some great local bands and especially with our friends from Maeta. If you're in San Antonio, we hope you'll be able to make it out to Jack's Patio Bar, 3030 Thousand Oaks this Sunday, September 1 at 4PM for a great lineup. Tickets are $9 at the door and be sure you're there to see Octahedron.
See you soon!
We're excited about our participation in the upcoming Battle of the Bands at Jack's Patio Bar this Sunday, September 1. We've been thrilled at the support and people who have already decided to support us in advance by buying tickets ahead of time.
We get to share the stage with other bands who are not just competitors, but also friends. We mean, specifically, the great peeps in Maeta and Rather Pleased.
We hope you'll be able to make it this Sunday. We'd love to see you there cheering us on and, most importantly, letting us entertain you with our music. Whatever the outcome we get to spend the evening with you and for that reason it's going to be a great event.
We mentioned yesterday how blessed we've been to connect with artist, promoters and techies in the short time we've been together. We intentionally didn't mention one band yesterday. They are not only fantastic artists but they are also great friends.
Maeta is Zach Charo on vocals and guitar, Matt Garcia on bass, Kyle Mounts on guitar and Ricky Reyes on drums. We have shared the stage and when we our regular guitarist was out for a few shows, Zach graciously stepped in filled in.
We love these guys and hope you will too.
We've been really surprised with the reception people have given us these past few weeks. It's like we thought we were getting on a bus and didn't realize we were stepping onto a high-speed rail.
Along our short journey we've made some great friends. Kevin and Elizabeth at Harmony Sweet in New Braunfels, TX, the awesome staff at Imagine Books & Records in San Antonio and the Ethos Coffee Cafe crew have been amazingly encouraging; not to mention other artists, techies and promoters like Jacob & the Inhumanes, Kevin Heckler, Patrick Weir, Ashley at Gorilla Productions, Invision Love, the Rosedale Highs, Rather Pleased and Eulerian Path, just to name a few.
Tonight we look forward to hitting the stage at the Korova right in the heart of downtown San Antonio. We're performing with a number of other great local artists:
7:00-7:20 Destroy The Dawn 7:30-8:00 Cool Guy Project 8:10-8:35 Jason Kane 8:45-9:10 Small Town Heroes 9:20-9:40 Stomping On Iris 9:50-10:35 Octahedron
The doors open at 7PM with an $8 charge. Be sure to say you're there to see "Octahedron" at the door.
We're looking forward to what the future brings. Whether you've seen us already or or waiting for just the right moment to check us out for the first time, we can't wait to see you at a show.
