Back home after a fabulous weekend at the Doo-Nanny. For anyone unfamiliar with the worlds premier lo-fi folk art festival just know that it was a weekend of majic and wonder. Featuring the artworks of Bob7, Phil Cheney, Jason Krekel, CM Laster and many many others, hosted at the site of Butch Anthony's Woods of Wonder it was a spectacle for all the senses. On Friday, after leading the parade to the Possum trot, playing on the back of a pickup truck, we joined our friends The Mad Tea Party and Jake Fussell, for a fun evening of porch playing and low country boil. Saturday was a beautiful day of art and music where we finished off the main stage with a late night turbo folk set. We spent the whole day Sunday recovering before our trek back on Monday.
We've got a bunch of local shows coming up plus working on a return to Florida in May so stay tuned.
We are all back safe and recovering after an incredable weekend of music down at the swannee spring fest. After arriving before dawn on Thursday we set camp with our friend painter John Moorer. Thursdays set on the porch stage was well attended and enjoyed. The evening gave way to a piano house party back at the camp. Friday was a day for us to chill and enjoy the festival with the evening again becoming a piano party with guests from the leftover salmon and others. Saturday the rain came. Our set on the meadow stage got rained out but so did everyone else's. The rain let up in time for another late night boogie that lasted till dawn. We took a hike to watch the bats return to their home, they filled the sky. Sunday was a beautiful day and we decided to spend one more night giving out a late night boogie, but instead of staying at our camp we loaded a flatbed truck with our instruments and people and played while driving through the campground until we arrived at the after party at which point we preceded to rock it for all it was worth. Monday morning we wrapped it all up and got back to a snowy asheville. Getting ready to head back south for the doo-nanny this weekend.
