Hometown Show at the Park Theater in McMinnville, Saturday, November 28!

Hello Middle Tennesseans,

Wanted to make sure that everyone knows about a special hometown show I'm putting together at the Park Theater in McMinnville. It's at 7pm on Saturday, November 28, and will feature my good friends Dianna Corcoran & Stephen Simmons. Opening up the night will be local favorite (and my cousin), Lucy Haston. We are all very excited to play in this historic theater! It's a thrill to have the opportunity to play the same room where I saw Star Wars (gasp!) and hundreds of other movies. Tickets are available via http://public.ticketbiscuit.com/parktheater/events/254264, though I'd recommend getting them from the theater, as the ticketing company takes a cut of every ticket sold online.

Please pass this along to friends and family, and let us know you're coming on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/events/901178319964587)!

See you at the Park!

Nashville, Philly, Boston, DE, CT, NY and Beyond!

Hello everybody!

I'm about to do my annual early fall run up to Deleware for the Dewey Beach Music Conference and Festival. I have a string of dates leading up to the festival, kicking off with my first gig in the brand-spanking-new Basement East in Nashville. I'll be returning to extremely cool Outer Space in Hamden, CT and the legendary Bitter End in New York City. Also doing a gig at one of my Nashville favorites, Mercy Lounge, featuring some of my best friends and peers in the scene here in Music City. More dates will be confirmed in the coming weeks, so keep checking back!

I hesitate to even mention it, because a full-length album is long overdue, but new music is on the way!!! I have been writing a lot, and I hope you like the new stuff. More updates in my next email.

Thanks for your support, and I hope to see you soon!

NoiseTrade & YouTube

Wanted to pass along a quick note to say that I'm featured this week in the "New & Notable" section of NoiseTrade.com. I've got a sampler there, available as a free download. If you don't already have those songs, go grab 'em!

I've also recently uploaded some pre-beard live footage from Mercy Lounge. Check it out at https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=sFvHvK0oLA4.

Have a happy and safe 4th of July!

Otha 2015

Playing this Saturday at Ode to Otha. Probably late afternoon (4ish). This is one of the coolest things I'm a part of, and if you're in Nashville or close, you should come hear the music, eat the food & drink the drink (all included in price of admission)! The lineup is stellar, and joining me will be The Stacy Mitchhart Band, The Nashville Alternators, Kenny Brown, Blue Mother Tupelo, Sharde Thomas and the Rising Star Fife and Drum Band, Bashful Mountain Broadcasters and MidDay Farm Report. It all benefits Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee. For more information, see http://www.othaturner.com/party.html or https://www.facebook.com/events/802744523135827. Hope to see you there!

Songs for Kids, Popfest, Launch, Otha and More!

Got a slate of shows that I wanted to make everyone aware of. I'm playing several of my perennial favorites: 500 Songs for Kids (Atlanta), Dewey Beach Popfest (DE), Launch Music Conference & Festival (PA) and Ode to Otha (Nashville). I get to play some of the best venues in all the land on this run, including Tellus360, IOTA Club & Cafe, World Cafe Live & Smith's Olde Bar! If you are near any of these shows, please come out and see me. If you have friends or family in these areas, send them my way! 500 Songs for Kids in Atlanta is one of my favorite causes to be involved with. Even if you can't be at the show, your donation helps the Songs For Kids Foundation integrate music into the lives of kids facing illness and hardship. All of the artist and bands involved are trying to raise money. If you would like to donate, please visit my donation link at https://www.songsforkidsfoundation.org/ChipGreene. Thanks for the support! Chip

NPR Tiny Desk Concert Contest

Hello everybody, and happy 2015! Wanted to let you know about one of several side projects I'm working on at the moment. I've been getting together with my friends Sadie Hart & Adam Mormolstein, and we're calling ourselves The Dance Cards. We just entered the NPR Tiny Desk Contest, and I thought I'd share that entry with you here. You can watch the video at http://youtu.be/g6-UnOcYXC4. Hope it puts a smile on your face. We had fun doing it. See you soon! Chip

Hello from the Road

I'm in the northeast for the next week or so, playing a handful of dates at some of my favorite places, and wanted to let you know! Tonight and tomorrow night I'll be showcasing at the Dewey Beach Music Conference and Festival in Deleware. This has been and continues to be one of the best kept secrets of independent festivals. Tuesday night I'll be in NYC, once again playing the legendary Bitter End. Always cool to play a room that has hosted so many of my music & comic heroes... AND has a baby grand on stage! Next Friday night I'll be playing a late set on my old stomping ground in Boston, albeit technically Cambridge. It's another legendary venue, the Plough & Stars, and it'll be my first time there. I'm sharing the stage with my friend Sabrina Stone, a fantastic singer/songwriter from New York City. If you are in any of these places, please come out to the shows! If you're not, please pass this along to your friends who are! As always, I appreciate the tremendous support you've given me through the years. See you soon! Chip

Tour Update: Bonnaroo!

Just got a last-minute tour addition that I wanted to let you know about. I'll be playing at the Love Hope Strength tent in Planet Roo at the 2012 Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival! If you've never heard of Love Hope Strength, they are the world's leading rock & roll cancer foundation, and I've been involved with them for a few years. Their work was recently featured in Billboard Magazine. My set will be immediately following the Radiohead performance on Friday night. If you're going to be at Bonnaroo, please drop by and learn more about this great organization! I've been having the time of my life on the road this spring. Looking forward to more great shows this summer, including the awesome Black Potatoe Music Festival (yes, it's spelled that way) in New Jersey. Thanks for coming to these shows. I couldn't do it without you! Will post pics soon! Chip

Spring Tour 2012

Hello all!

Wanted to let you know that I'm hitting the road this week, starting with a hometown gig at Kimbro's. I'll be touring mainly in the northeast on this leg, with stops everywhere from DC to Boston, and several points in-between. Expect more dates to be anounced soon. Next I'll set my sights on the west coast. Finally!

This is my first extended solo acoustic tour... No band, no percussion... Just me at the keyboard, the way the songs were originally written. I'll be trying out some new stuff on the road, as I finish up songs for the next album. Come help me decide which ones are the keepers!

Oh, and download the official Chip Greene app for both iPhone & Android! I'm giving Björk a run for her money... Okay, she's killing me, but mine's still pretty cool! Tell me what you think.

Thanks for all the support. See you out there!

Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays!

I want to take a moment to thank you for making 2011 a really great year! I worked with some amazing musicians, played killer rooms in Toronto, Austin, Chicago, New York & many more, released the Have Mercy! live EP, was part of an amazing project supporting tsunami relief efforts in Japan called Songs of Love for Japan, received features in Under the Radar magazine and Delta Airlines In-flight Entertainment, among others, and had the good fortune to have a song used in a new promotional video by Eddie Bauer. All of these cool things would not be possible without a lot of help from you. I appreciate the support more than you know.

Some of you also know that this has also been a challenging year for me, medically. Without going into too much detail, I've had one surgery on my sinuses, and may require another. This is messing with my head, literally, and the bills are racking up. To be blunt, I just don't sound or feel very good, so you probably won't see as many shows from me until I get this straightened out. I appreciate the encouragement I've gotten, and would offer that if you've ever thought about downloading music from me, but haven't gotten around to it, I could use the help right now. I'm reluctant to talk about this at all, but I figured I owed you at least some explanation as to why I've gone into hiding!

I hope everyone is enjoying a great holiday season. As I mentioned above, Delta is playing me on their in-flight entertainment throughout the month of December... So if you're flying Delta on your holiday travels, look me up on the Independent Music Channel (8A)!

All my best for a happy & healthy 2012! See you soon!
