The band headlined at the Progday festival, yesterday Sat 4th Sept in rural NC just outside Chapel Hill. Our first prog. festival since Baja in '05. Colin Carter and I did a radio interview the night before on WXYC, Chapel Hill with DJ Howie Hoyt. Nice interview, and Howie now has some new Flash tracks from the forthcoming CD and hopefully will be plugging them in the coming weeks. Thanks Howie !
I was struck by all the lush greenery spreading out for miles and miles across the NC countryside as we flew in. Goes on forever. Nice seeing so many trees as we are now based in Nevada. Landing at Raleigh/Durham reminded me of Flash back in the first incarnation. We went through this part of the country many times. Very relaxed outdoor vibe, weather warm, sunny and perfect - and a big stage. All conducive to a good afternoon of music Enthusiastic crowd and equally warm response for the new line-up of Flash. The new band got it's first standing ovation. Everyone shone onstage. It's getting tight, and some great musical moments.
Some kind fans brought along their own micro brews to the after-show pool party. Apparently home brewing is a popular hobby around there (of course, moonshine country) On top of a great Japanese dinner with saki, all went down a treat !
