The Westival: Fight Like Apes Rambunctious electro-indie-pop from Dublin, fronted by the deliciously unhinged Mary-Kate Geraghty. Both gloriously noisy and full of soaring pop melodies, they have been compared to The Yeah Yeah Yeah’s and The Ting Tings. Big Red Ass Shake your backside to the bombastic, brass-fuelled nine-piece ska-reggae-rock dance explosion that is Big Red Ass! Parachute for Gordo A fearsome proposition on stage, Parachute For Gordo just keep getting better! New record, Ten Metres Per Second Per Second, brilliantly captures the three-piece’s blissfully noisy, punky post-rock sound. That followed their debut EP, Eight Minutes of Weightlessness, which was released in 2012 after being recorded entirely live to capture the band in all of their intense, violent and beautiful glory. The Crosstown Trio Bringing campfire ambience and a wonderfully eclectic style all the way from Farnham! Blending blues, folk and roots music, with nods towards jazz and funk, The Crosstown Trio are one of the busiest bands in the area – they’ve supported The Blockheads here, and played both GuilFest and Weyfest. Our Lost Infantry Back a new drummer and an extra guitarist but possessed of the same epic indie-rock sound which saw their debut album, The New Art History, released by the hugely influential Deep Elm label in 2012. Compared to Arcade Fire and Brand New, their songs are both complex and full of huge choruses. They have played on the BBC Introducing Stage at the T In The Park Festival and been played on both Radio 1 and BBC 6 Music. The Wilsons Purveyors of a very British Americana, The Wilsons’ indie-alt.country tells tales of the mythica side of the old West – songs of death, destruction, revenge, cannibalism, the gold rush and gunfights. Hat Fitz and Cara Bournbon-soaked fiery blues and rock’n’roll from the wild man of the Australian outback and his Irish sweetheart with the gorgeous soul voice. Combining cigar box guitar, banjo, drums, flute, washboard and tin whistle, this is rambunctious roots music like an unholy union of Seasick Steve, Imelda May and Jack White! Hannah Lou Clark Formerly known as FOE, Hannah returns with a new project to bewitch us with her stunning vocals and amazing songwriting. We await further details with barely concealed excitement.
