MITTY & THE FOLLOWERS / Press

“R/B Soul Mitty & The Followers Someone told me recently that if you live in Rochester, and you've never heard of Mitty & The Followers, then you just haven't been paying attention. Believe me, I am all ears. Eric "Mitty" Moore—a.k.a the Ambassador of Soul—leads this powerful, energetic R & B outfit with solid, sophisticated bass lines and a staggering vocal range. Stevie Lyons adds the right amount of spice with his edgy, Southern-rockish guitar work, while Sammy "G" controls the keys with a sound dripping with blues and gospel influences. Rounding out the mix is drummer Paul Mastriani whose unassuming but steady rhythmic approach is the perfect foundation for this funky and soulful reimagining of your Mama's Motown.”

“GOOD TIMES: Living the life and the musicWe have lived the life and the music.” It was not a brag, and none of us would dispute that statement. Eric “Mitty” Moore was reflecting to an audience at Montezuma Winery. We had come to drink wine and hear his current band, Rochester-based Mitty and the Followers. He and guitarist Steve Lyons played for 25 years with the Legendary Dukes, the successor band to Wilmer and the Dukes. Moore and Lyons have had the Followers for the last six years, most of the time concurrent with the other band. The Legendary Dukes officially disbanded in 2011 after a long and very successful run. The four-piece Followers band is deliberately small lead guitar, bass, organ, drums but very tight. A smaller group like this helps keep live music affordable for the clubs and festivals. Mitty and”
