“In 2013, Mother Funk opened for Dispatch at the University’s annual Costa Greekfest. In 2014, they released a debut album, “Coastal,” giving the band the opportunity to open for widely-known artists like Corey Smith, Wiz Khalifa, Moon Taxi and The Revivalists. Since graduating from the University, the band members have altered slightly and currently they perform as a four-piece. The band has relocated to Nashville, where they practice and record with plans to release a new album and embark on a fall tour.”

“If you are looking for a new band that lays down a jammy, funky sound then the Tuscaloosa, Alabama band MOTHER.FUNK will be right up your alley...I can imagine packed college bars or frat parties raging to the music they put down. If you close your eyes you can just about see all the kids jamming and feeling the good vibes being showered down on the happy crowd.”

“They’ve been tearing up the Tuscaloosa music scene over the past year or so rocking originals and a tasty selection of covers ranging from Buffalo Springfield to Phish to Tea Leaf Green to Shaggy, you name it they play it.”

“True to its name, the band has a real funk, and audiences cannot resist the urge to move with each and every show. Mother Funk finds its inspiration through jam-band artists such as Tea Leaf Green, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Slightly Stoopid. The band’s solid renditions of “Use Me” and “For What It’s Worth” say it all.”
