Music starts at 9p, friends! “Longshot Voodoo with The Brian McKenzie Band and special guest Vudu Sister perform at the Ocean Mist” On the heels of their sold out headlining show in Kingston, the eclectic quartet Longshot Voodoo make their long-awaited return to the Ocean Mist on Saturday, December 13, at 8:00 p.m., 895 Matunuck Beach Rd. Wakefield, RI. The evening will feature music from Longshot Voodoo, Vudu Sister, and The Brian McKenzie Band. Tickets at the door are $8/ day of show. With influences of rock, folk, jam, blues, and world music, Longshot Voodoo features vocalist Adrienne West, percussionist Don "D.C" Culp, bassist Matt West and guitarist Carl Eddy. Their “hypnotic” performances were recently cited as a “Music Must” by popular entertainment blog GoLocalProv.com. Vudu Sister features the Romanichal singer/songwriter Keith McCurdy, violinist Diane O’Connor, and accompanist Amato Zinno, while performing their blend of gothy “death-folk” and rock and roll. They have garnered rave reviews across the country including at the Newport Folk Festival and Doc Watson’s Sugar Grove Festival. Brian McKenzie is an old soul in the body of a modern day singer/songwriter. Drawing on influences that range from crooners of the early 1940’s and 50’s, to early country, rockabilly and rock n’ roll, McKenzie has been described as an “Ameri-Crooner”.
