Dance in a cool mountain meadow by a sparkling river to world class Blues! Legendary blues artists in Paradise. TRAVIS "MOONCHILD" HADDIX Haddix has become one of the most lauded electric bluesmen of our modern era. Moonchild has built a loyal following the hard way- with soul-stirring music and phenominal performances. Born in Mississippi, his father was a Delta blues artist with a style similar to Robert Johnson. Moonchild began playing piano at age 7, but at 8 he went to a B.B. King show and the inspired Moonchild soon became a young guitar virtuoso. Before emerging as the ace bandleader he is today, he was a sideman in demand joining up with Little Johnny Taylor and Clarence Carter. Moonchild now tours internationally, his smoldering guitar and warm vocals steeped in blues, but also evoking the legendary sounds of the great Stax-Volt days. Awards: Best Male Blues Artist, Best New Blues Artist, Best Blues Entertainer and Contemporary Blues Artist Of The Year. GIT SHORTY Willie Dixon credits having seen Git Shorty in a club as the inspiration behind Buddy Guy's stage persona. Git Shorty's "trickerations" and antics were like nothing Dixon had ever witnessed, and he advised Guy to follow suit...The young Elbert Ferguson began his career in 1958 and was soon known for his wild acrobatics and extraordinary guitar prowess. James Brown was sold on the pyrotechnic guitarist and brought him into his band. With James Brown, he learned the ropes of professional show business, the discipline, and the fact that it took 'more than being a player' to be successful. Stints with Sam and Dave and Johnny "Guitar" Watson solidified his reputation. Now a bandleader in his own right, Git Shorty can rock with the best, can tear into Hendrix licks, or make his guitar sing B.B. King style..But most importantly he has his own unbridled, soulful sound and tour de force show! VERONIKA JACKSON Veronika Jackson has combined acoustic folk guitar and the history of her culture as an African-American woman to generate her own original, authentic, and exciting style of music. Inspired by Odetta and live performances by Diamond Teeth Mary, Veronika draws in the audience and engages them with her charismatic presence. Clean Piedmont style picking and melodious singing keep alive the grassroots of American folk music, while bringing joy to the listener. Veronika is now in demand at festivals across the US and overseas where her following is passionate and growing.
