“4 out of 5 Stars! We met Kim D and the Killer Bees when we played with them at a show in Cinespace last year, and kept in touch. Recently we stormed their backyard bar, aptly named the Honeybee Bar, and indulged in some glorious libations and bbq!!! Rock! Their EP is tight; the first three songs are stripped down, allowing the drums, bass, and vocals drive most of the EP, and has almost a jazzy, indie-rock, lounge feel. That’s not to say the guitar and keys don’t have a part, they just typically don’t take center stage. And that’s appropriate, as it gives Kim’s breathy, sensual vocals the room they need to carry through. Kim also rocks the bass, which of course is near and dear to this Album Doctor's heart . . .and fingers. The next two songs have more of a big band feel as the Killer Bees take more a presence, and then the last song is a happy little duet with her backup singer. All around, a grand EP.”
