Kieran Strange / Press

“Seemingly effortlessly, Strange belted out every song as she ran around the stage. With her high energy and great crowd interaction (for example, she had a fan re-fasten her belt after it became loose), she has proven her debut EP will be something worth getting. Backed with her talented band, this pop-punk singer, puts the punk, back in pop-punk. We are definitely now Strangers.”

“She’s only about a year into her musical career, but Kieran Strange is already ranked among pop heavyweights such as Lady Gaga and Britney Spears. ... As of Tuesday afternoon, she ranked No. 17 out of 1,700 artists – trailing Paramore and Marianas Trench.”

“By posting a waterfall of high quality covers on YouTube and actively interacting with her fans on Twitter and Facebook, Kieran has a strong vision of how she wants to market herself. She wants to adamantly stay away from becoming arrogant and distant from her fans since they are what makes her successful. Miss Strange is not only a talented, pretty face either. She can actually perform on stage, away from a controlled studio environment. In actuality, from all the bands we see on a yearly basis from Vancouver, Kieran Strange ranks up there as one of the most personable and entertaining performers. She can belt out a powerful tune while maintaining a spunky, energetic demeanor. She also is English and has pink hair, do we really need to sell her anymore?”

“KIERAN STRANGE was named ARTIST OF THE WEEK by renowned Houston-based music podcast, PODiMOUTH.”

“Kieran Strange began her set by prancing out onto the stage wearing a black bandit mask (obviously a tribute to the “Vinyl Villains” part of the show title). As she launched into her first song, her bright pink hair drew the eye, capturing the colored lighting that tinted it different shades. She jumped around the stage, her voice carrying both high and low notes, singing to her band, her fans, and basically anyone else who got in her way. More than once, she crouched in front of a person in the front row and sang directly to that person for a few seconds before jumping back up and then choosing the next person to sing to.”

“Kieren Strange and I managed to have a few words before she took the stage about her upcoming album and twitter frenzy and what not. Such a strong personality that is only amplified the minute she took on step into the spot light. She could be just as happy playing for a small room as she would be playing for a sold out stadium and her set would have not diminished at all. A born performer.”

“I guess it would be too cheesy to say that superheroes inspire me? I’d proper wanna be a Green Lantern – all willpower, no fear! Ha ha. No, seriously? I guess the fact that life is short. It sounds cliche, but you only get one shot at life, and if you don’t make it into what you want, you’re gonna wake up one day wondering why you wasted what you were given. And yeah, you’re always gonna have haters and people trying to drag you down, and you’re gonna come across roadblocks, but that’s a part of life. You gotta tough it out.”

“Kieran Strange is a British singer-song writer, currently residing in Canada, whose tunes will make you drop everything you are doing and start rocking along. Kieran recently had the opportunity to showcase her music at Oni-Con, an anime convention based in Houston Texas. It is usually hard for any artist to have fans sing their songs, but during her concert at this convention it was a bit odd to see so many Texas natives sing along to the tunes of a foreign indie artist. It turns out Kieran Strange already had a following in Houston thanks to the web and several social networks.”

“We are all waiting for the first EP which is probably going to be amazing with the preview ‘Good Intentions’ which is perfect…. She has an amzing voice and pretty cool english accent.”

“Mostly these ['Hot Damn Mess' EP] are songs that I wrote while I was kind of finding myself as an artist, so a lot of them are very kinda introspective as to my own personality and what I was going through as I was trying to find out who I was. 'Cuz I'd been with bands for a long time and I'd always kinda like tried to fit in with their sound and what they were doing, and write lyrics I thought they would like. So this EP's definitely me coming out of my shell and saying, "Hey no, wait, this is what is coming outta my heart, I'm not writing this for anyone, I'm writing this for me." And if people can go with that, and can understand how that feels, then yeah, totally, that's great!”

“Thank you Kieran, for taking the time to answer my questions. For those of you who have never heard of Kieran before now, you should go and check out her website. Now! She’s also on Facebook where you can download some free tracks, and she’ll keep you entertained on Twitter too. Also, keep an eye out for the upcoming release of her EP Hot Damn Mess – I’ve heard one of the tracks from it (Good Intentions) and I’m looking forward to hearing the rest of this project that she’s been working hard to produce!”

“... She's an up-and-coming band from Canada, she's really big over there, and you know what? They're starting to get really big over here. Awesome band, alternative rock, totally crazy. And she's a nerd. And she's a big time nerd. I love her already.”

“According to a tweet she made Kieran Strange will be on a charity album for the Access 2 Foundation. To find out more about The Access 2 Foundation visit their website [www.access2foundation.com]. To find out more about the lovely Kieran Strange check out her website and like her facebook.”
