Christian Porter / Press

“Are you ready to get sexy? The Voice premieres Monday, March 25 at 8pm on NBC, and with it comes a performer who might have what it takes to go very far. In this new video, we get to see the season 4 blind audition of Christian Porter, and it's pretty darn amazing. For starters, the dude is singing LMFAO's "Sexy and I Know It," which should automatically disqualify him. But he has a groovy, sexy arrangement that makes it almost unrecognizable. Even the "wiggle, wiggle, wiggle" part is wildly different. To be fair, it's clearly influenced heavily or just copied from the British X Factor's season 9 winner James Arthur, who in turn borrowed heavily from a YouTube star named Only1Noah. I've included both versions below for you to compare, though I don't think it necessarily makes Porter's any less entertaining. He definitely has a Dez Duron-style influence over the ladies, but I'd say his voice is actually much better. He has sort of a Phillip Phillips thing going, etc...”

“Before “The Voice” season 4 premieres on NBC Monday night, we thought it best to give you an idea of a couple of the performers who are hoping to impress the likes of Usher, Shakira, Adam Levine, and Blake Shelton. While “American Idol” is by and large a show that focused primarily on undiscovered talent, this is a program that really highlights artists who have been working hard for years to make their dreams come true, and are really looking for just one more opportunity in order to take their careers to the next level. Christian Porter – We don’t know a lot about Christian right now, but he has a pretty fantastic voice. Not only that, but he has covered Adam’s band Maroon 5 in the past along with such other songs as Coldplay’s “Trouble” and John Maher’s “Belief.” His voice actually feels like it is one part Maher, and one part “American Idol” winner Kris Allen. Watch out: this guy could go very far in this competition.”

“A local musician will be a highlighted performer on “The Voice” tonight. Stroudsburg's Christian Porter, a singer and guitarist on the local music scene, will be on the two-hour season premiere of the popular NBC reality singing competition. It appears Porter then moves on to the next round of the show when three of the judges — Blake Shelton, Usher and Shakira — all say they want to coach him. Shakira — who would know something on the subject — calls Porter “sexy” after he did an acoustic guitar version of “I'm Sexy and I Know It.” The show starts at 8 p.m.”

“East Stroudsburg, PA – Rep. Rosemary M. Brown (R-Monroe/Pike) invites families within the 189th District in Monroe and Pike counties to join her for her Second Annual Family Expo, to be held Sunday, June 3, from noon to 3 p.m. The expo will be held in the All-Purpose Room of East Stroudsburg High School South, located at 279 North Courtland St., East Stroudsburg. In addition to the exhibitors, entertainment will be provided by Christian Porter and the Gallagher School of Irish Dancing, and the Monroe County Environmental Center will offer its “Hug a Tree” program to educate children about how to find their way out of the woods if they are lost.”

“Christian Porter has only been playing guitar for a few years, but the 19-year-old is already making a name for himself. Not only has he been performing since he was 14 and had his first bar gig at 15, the Stroudsburg musician has opened for former “American Idol” Bo Bice and folk-rock act Dawes when both played shows at the Sherman Theater in Stroudsburg. Porter’s next big-ticket opening act will again be at the Sherman Friday, Dec. 10 when he’ll precede Thriving Ivory during the band’s Weekender-sponsored show.”

“Local guitarist and singer Christian Porter will perform at United Way Night at the Pub, set for Monday at Siamsa on Main Street, Stroudsburg. Porter will perform cover songs from artists like John Mayer and original songs from his new CD, "One Reason," released in June. United Way Night at the Pub will also feature guest bartenders Daren and Dan Sebring and cocktail waitress Terry Klee. “Christian Porter, a 17-year-old singer/songwriter, vocalist and performer, will perform a free community concert at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the main lobby of the Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort. As an accomplished performer, he is sponsored by Casio's Privia line of keyboards and also a preferred musician of Martin Guitars. Porter's main influence of music is John Mayer. In addition, there are many influences in his life that relate to his variety of music performed and written. Porter received his first guitar in September of 2005 and is self-taught. He also plays the piano. In June, Porter finished the production of his CD "Christian Porter: One Reason." The shows are fun for audiences of all ages. Each concert is free of charge, and donations to the performers are accepted in order to show appreciation for their time and talents. For information, visit www.shawneeinn.com or www.shawneeinstitute.org.”

Teenager to perform at Shawnee

“Sixteen-year-old East Stroudsburg resident Christian Porter is taking the music industry by storm. He is a triple threat, with awesome vocals and natural talent on guitar and keyboards. He has played the keyboard since he was a small child but only started playing guitar after he got one as a birthday gift in September 2005. Opportunities are just knocking down his door. He isn't even going out looking for them, they are hunting him down. Porter writes his own music, throws in some cover songs and with each song, a fan is born. He has been playing at the Sarah Street Grill for a few months now and has created a solid fan base fairly quickly. "Christian is really good, very talented," East Stroudsburg University student Max Cohen said. His friend Gareth Mason added, "He has a great selection of music."”

"PORTER IN SPOTLIGHT AS ESTABLISHED RISING TALENT" The next local entertainer in the spotlight is Christian Porter, a 16-year-old Stroudsburg resident who is absolutely amazing. He writes original songs, performs cover songs, plays guitar and keyboard and is an all-around amazing performer......
