Cathy Richardson. What can we say that hasn't been said over and over by fans, critics and fellow musicians? Cathy is flat-out amazing. A Chicago native, she honed her chops relentlessly working the club scene for years, becoming a local legend in the process, releasing albums, garnering a Grammy. And then she got tapped to play the part of Janis Joplin in the Chicago production of "Love, Janis," a performance that gained her a new legion of fans and critical acclaim, something that followed her when she took the part to New York, Arizona, and San Francisco. It also got her noticed by Joplin's former band, "Big Brother And the Holding Company," who asked her to tour with them during the "Summer of Love 40th Anniversary Tour." And that got her noticed by the legendary hall of famer Paul Kanter, founder of The Jefferson Starship, who then asked her to step into yet another legend's shoes, those of the iconic Grace Slick, and Cathy is currently the lead singer of Jefferson Starship. Cathy still writes her own solo material, recently releasing "The Other Side" by her new project, The Macrodots. Several critics have dubbed her as "the best female voice in rock today." We agree with them. Cath has graced our stage twice before, and has been eager to return. And we're happy to have her back. Richardson will be performing songs from her sizeable solo catalog, along with Jefferson Starship classics such as "Somebody to Love" and "Miracles", and possibly, if you ask nice enough, she may lay down the Janis for you. Tickets are only $25 for reserved seats. As a special treat, if you purchase one of the limited "couch seats" up front, not only will you get to watch Cathy from a comfy sofa, but you will have your photo taken with Cathy before the show and you'll have an 8x10 print to take home with you (and to get signed) by the end of the show. Cathy's website is at www.crband.com if you'd like to find out more about her. Sunday, October 18th, 2015 Showtime: 7:30pm Tickets: $25, reserved. Couch seats w/photo: $50Tickets Save
