It is surprising how many people are unaware of what an apparition really is. The definition of an apparition is a ghost or spirit, or even a manifestation of something unexplainable. To us, we see this as what is left, or the spiritual remains, of an individual that has passed on. These remains are what once made up this person. Their personality, characteristics, likes and dislikes all continue on intact in spirit. These apparitions are now lost in a world where they cannot be seen or be interacted with, often just trying to find closure. The Apparition has based their music on and around trying to determine the correct path to follow both in life and the afterlife. Self-perseverance, individuality, determination, and finding / reaching clarity are major themes throughout.
The members of The Apparition have been playing together in various projects throughout Long Island for more than ten years. When they first formed as The Apparition in the summer of 2010, they knew something was different this time around. The Apparition played vigorously for the remaining year and into 2011 as a five-piece. The goal was to write powerful music, to put on energetic shows and creating a following of fans and friends all over Long Island. The Apparition went on hiatus for personal reasons, but returned with a vengeance in the fall of 2012. Now a four piece, their drive and sound are stronger than ever. Armed with a more professional outlook and refreshing new material, they are ready to be heard by the world. Always sticking to their guns and never following the trends, The Apparition always writes and plays music from the heart, keeping the sound and message pure. They always stand for what they believe in and making music that they are proud of and enjoy playing.
Countless hours are spent at local rehearsal studios, perfecting their craft and sound. Combining elements of modern metal-core, classic bay area thrash, and the "down and dirty" sounds of southern rock and metal, the new sound of this Long Island based group is not to be missed.
The Apparition is led by vocalist/ guitarist Andrew Callahan, lead guitarist Joe Tomanelli, bassist/ vocalist Jesse Alotta, and drummer/ vocalist Jay Monroy. They have recorded multiple demos and are soon to release their first E.P. entitled "Clarity" in early spring of 2013. Always enjoying the moment and having a good time, these metal dudes are keeping it gnarly and will be for a long time.
The Apparition will be a voice for the underground and will have a beer or two while doing it.
