The end of 2014 saw RacecaR (now Days), literally ending the year, with well-earned applause, as continuing vocalist for Sax Machine at the highly-regarded, TRANSMUSICALES Festival in Rennes.
2015 has brought on a flurry of set dates with Sax Machine, as they continue gaining momentum and fans around Europe. Sax Machine is currently touring and preparing a brand new release for 2016.
The new year has also materialized new connections, that have led to a new voice for RacecaR (Days).
With a nod to 60's Blacksploitation and rare groove, RacecaR has joined with AFRO LATIN VINTAGE ORCHESTRA on a new release (possibly forthcoming in 2016) and a new stage show to create a new nostalgia for music lovers of many genres.
By chance encounter with much-lauded French producer GUTS and Open Side Music, RacecaR was introduced to, and has begun to push the envelopes of Electronica and "Abstract Hip-Hop" with a new "Japanese" producer by the name of ASAGAYA, with whom they will be promoting ASAGAYA's new release with indie favorite, Jakarta Records in 2015. This connection has also led to a new release featuring RacecaR (Days) and singer Mary May, which will continue the on-going saga of Asagaya.
Indirectly meeting thru Paris DJs, RacecaR was introduced to and gradually began working with Lawkyz (Versus, Anna Kova). Working on the single, The Man with The Wax Hand, with Lawkyz has led to a brand new release, The Waxidermist on Sound Select Records. The initial buzz also has led to a live show which includes Mr. Tos (dj for Versus) and Mattic.
Finally, with what may be his last official appearance under the name RacecaR, Paris DJ's is currently on the ready to promote a body of work (recorded thruout 2014 and 2015) in collaboration with producer Grant Phabao, tentatively entitled "A Healthy Obsession with Petanque."
Born and raised in Chicago, RacecaR, now also known as Days, has made music his priority since 1998 (as the "addiction of all things Hip-Hop, culturally speaking," had already been well-cemented, at the end of 1987, over a decade earlier).
Gaining independent praise with Modill (EV Records), RacecaR would continue working and touring stateside, until 2010.
Once in Paris, with little-to-no contacts, but American charm, skill, experience, and chance intact, RacecaR enters boldly into a new music scene without signs of any slowing down.
The hard years pay off, as he now plays nationally in France as the main emcee for Sax Machine (Rennes), Soul Square (Nantes), and Asagaya (Paris by way of Japan).
As well, very recent collaborations with Paris DJ's, Afro Latin Vintage Orchestra (Paris), Slone (France) and Lawkyz (Paris, Nantes) have offered some new styles, new directions and new connections for the Chicagoan emcee.
He has continued to produce a number of notably, fresh releases with a number of French beat producers Asagaya, Blanka (Jukebox Champions), Creestal (CM Jones), Clem Beatz, Diazott, Dirty Zoo, DJ Enygm, Dj Suspect and Doc TMK, ICBM, Lekar, Grant Phabao and Djouls of Paris DJs, Son Of A Pitch, Slone, Vax Uno, and a few other surprises in 2015 and 2016.
The light is green and he's off with the pedal buried deeply in the metal.
