JD Greer Bio
JD Greer is a POP/R&B singer and songwriter, from northern California, whose been performing since the tender age of sixteen. His early career began in high school, when he was a member of an a cappella group called ‘One Way’. After years of performing, he finally hit the big stage at the Wango Tango Concert in Los Angeles. It was his first professional show, and he sang his heart out. He was honored to perform at the same venue as some of the greats he’d admired, such as Enrique Iglesias and Will Smith.
After his first big stage performance, his stock continued to rise. He would go on to perform at major venues across the country and then ventured overseas, singing in front of hundreds of thousands of people in Europe, Japan, and India.
During a showcase at Universal Republic Records, in 2007, CEO Monte Lipman praised JD for his voice. He noted that JD’s showcase was the best he had seen in a long time. His performance there was instrumental in helping his label, at the time, FullBlast Records, land a recording deal with Universal Republic.
Recording artist, Jojo Taylor, also spoke highly of JD and his vocals. Jojo said, “JD Greer is the best R&B/Soul Artist I’ve listened to in so long! His voice has many overtones of many greats! He delivers an array of emotions in each song that everyone can relate to! Excellent brother!”
Since 2012, JD has been considered for Grammy Award Nominations for multiple songs, namely in the ‘Song of the Year’ category. His song, ‘Never Alone’, which is near and dear to his heart and ‘Tell Me’, which he collaborated with Five-Time Grammy Nominated Jazz Artist, Aaron Bing were among them.
Also in 2012, JD was featured on the cover of ‘Hype’ magazine. His interview is was insightful and gave his fans an inside look into his life, motivations, and career.
Of the many times, he’s seen his name in lights, there was one moment that stood out from the rest. It was on August 9th, 2013, when JD was selected to sing the National Anthem before the Oakland Raiders game. As a life-long Raiders fan, who served in the United States Armed Forces, he honored his country that evening with a heart-wrenching rendition in front of Forty Three thousand fans in attendance.
For the 56th Annual Grammy Awards, which are to be held in January of 2014, the song he co-wrote with Aaron Bing, ‘Mi Primer Amor’, which translates to ‘My First Love’, is being considered for Nomination in the ‘Song of the Year’ category.
Also, in 2014, JD will be featured in an article in ‘Most Influential Magazine’. In the inspirational article, about his life and career, he bears his soul for the world to see and never looks back.
JD is active in social media, allowing his fans access to his career, and opportunities to interact with him. He’s broadcast over 28k tweets to his 100k followers. He also has a Facebook, MySpace, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Reverbnation page, where he provides his fans with updates, samples of his songs, and a glimpse into his life and career.
