EARTH, SOUL & ROCK N ROLL. CROSS-OVER SOUTHERN ROCK BAND. "BRUISED GRASS" ARE TURNING THE BLUES GREEN! Bruised Grass is pure southern funk n soul rock n roll spiritual blues psychedelia. Their songs are fueled by concepts, real life situations and issues that concern us all, the hope is there to instill change. Warren 'SimpleMan' Simpson, a part time activist, has led the band in different formations since 2006. Florida recording artist, Matthew Warren Simpson, Georgia born in 1971 - Florida Native "Simpleman"© is a Musician, Singer-Songwriter, Music Producer and Sound Engineer, Humanitarian and Activist who has been in the Tallahassee, North Florida - South Georgia music scene for over 30 years. In 1989 the idea of Simpleman Music © Studios in Monticello, Florida was born.

Bruised Grass is pure southern funk n soul rock n roll spiritual blues psychedelia. Their songs are based on real life situations and issues, they are politically motivated and written to instill change. Warren 'SimpleMan' Simpson, a part time activist, has led the band in different formations since 2006.

Bruised Grass has been from the city of Tallahassee, Florida to the Freebird Live in Jacksonville to the Hard Rock Cafe in Destin, Florida. They've opened up for Bo Bice and the Bellamy Brothers at Panama City Beach for the Gulf Oil Spill Benefit. In October 2012, Simpson collaborated with Michael Allman, first son of Gregg Allman, for a show at Tallahsseee, Florida's Krewe De Gras.

On November 9, 2013 the City of Tallahassee awarded the band with a "People's Choice Award".

THE BLACK & BLUE ALBUM, produced, recorded, mixed and mastered at Warren Simpson's studio, SimpleMan Music Studio in Monticello, FL. On April 26, 2014 the band released their debut double cd at Krewe De Gras in Tallahassee, FL., several positive reviews and interviews followed. The first international interview by wolfpawradio.org is available for a listen at the band's facebook or youtube sites below.

More solo work has been recognized internationally by Warren Simpson in late 2015, with the writing and recording of "The Wind Chases The Sun (In the Badlands)", the official clemency song for U.S. Political Prisoner Leonard Peltier and a message to President Obama himself. This is Simpson's first project working with friend and platinum record producer Paul Hornsby in Macon, Ga. This song is available for ILPDC donations only at www.whoisleonardpeltier.info/home/store/music.

The band intends to record their next full project with Paul in Macon as well, so be on the look out for some new tunes from Bruised Grass soon!
