If anyone ever asks me why I learned to play music or why I still play, I would say this...I hope that at some time in your life you get to experience the rush, the fear, the invincibility, the spectacular feeling of being on stage, playing guitar, singing, dancing, and performing your own songs for people who love the same. (Even those that don\'t) If you ever get to be so lucky to do anything close to this, I hope that you can hear me or see me perform and know how much I love entertaining and having fun with you, the fans. Never stop creating!
I was born a poor black child.........with blues on my mind!!! I started playing in a R&B band at the age of 16, all the other guys were in their 30s. We played college dances, parties and then one day I got a break and started working in a cool nightclub owned by Jack Ruby called the Vegas Club, located in Dallas. I soon started getting a little recognition around town and was hired to play the Red Jacket club owned by the Guthrie family, again in Dallas. After I got out of college I moved to LA and started playing up and down the west coast and around Hollywood. I even played at the famous " Gazzari's" on Sunset Strip. But, Dallas was calling me home, so I returned there and played around town until one day I met Stevie Ray Vaughn and became friends with him. I rehearsed with him for a while, but we never seemed to get the right players together so I started playing with a Las Vegas style show band and toured with them for several years. During all of this I got married and had a son, he was named Aaron. Later in life Aaron and I decided to pool our music knowledge and vastly different music styles and what you hear from us now is the wonderful collaboration of father and son. We are very proud of our relationship, our musical mesh and the creative togetherness we have achieved. Please listen close and hear the history of our music and lives played out in each note and word. We are Icon Rising!!!!
