Bloody Catholics / Bio

The Bloody Catholics are WillyBones Thornton, Timothy Brough, Tommy Bannister and Johnny Durkan,a Philly based band that has been making music together for most of their lives. Starting out as a rock and blues band, and drawing influence from a strong Irish/American background, their sound has developed into a rootsy fusion of Celtic/Americana and Rock and Roll. The traditional four piece set of guitars, bass, and drums is accentuated by mandolin, accordion, banjo, melodica and harmonica. Original songs are drawn from their combined musical experience. From bare bones acoustic to screaming surf punk, Bloody Catholics live shows are a rip roarin' house party on a hot iron griddle!

Recent finalists in the 2013 Beta Hi-Fi/World Café Live Emerging Music Festival, the Blood Catholics also wrote the theme song for locally produced T.V. pilot, Beer Appetit. Check it out at beerappetit.net
