The NC based quintet, The Better Letters, started as a synth-pop duo. With the help of a Gemini Beat Box, Joe Palumbo would write catchy micro-pop gems based around the gesticulations and modern dances of friend and keyboard champion, Abraham Something. Eventually, band members moved in and out of the band during recordings and tours (Ben Brunnemer, Steve Goldberg, and Zakiah Hudson to name a few). The band has had a fluctuating number of members for the past couple years.
The Better Letters are part of the 4:3 records family ( www.4-3records.com ) where they have released a digital-only EP entitled Play it Straight, a full length LP "Mixed Feelings", as well as a 7 inch which includes the tracks "That's Not All" and "Container".
A new sound is being developed by Palumbo and will be presented later this year. Keep your eyes and ears open because new demos will pop up on the band's official website, www.thebetterletters.com.
