Dolly Hit Dollie / Bio

From the desolate, windy flat lands of western Nebraska, Dolly Hit Dollie has crawled from the underground of a farming community and created a music scene of their own. Residing in a city not even heard of by most, DHD has managed to take modern metal music and find acceptance in a very intolerant community. The band officially formed in the summer of 2007 as a 3-piece metal jam band. Jesse Tafolla and Steven Garcia rotated roles between rhythm and lead guitar and Adam Bartling played drums. The line up changed to a 4-piece when drummer Joe Votruba relocated to Sidney, NE from his home town of Gainsville, FL. This move took Adam Bartling from playing drums to lead vocals. The first songs from the band were written as this 4-piece line up with no bass. DHD recorded their very first ep at a studio at Aims Community College in Greeley, CO later in 2007. Shortly following, the band recruited Ben Carey to play bass guitar and began to book shows around the area. In 2009, Killingsworth Recording Company in Long Island, NY found the band online and made an agreement to make the band's first record. The EP, "A Struggle Worth Fighting For" was completed in the summer of 2009 and released in 2010. It can be found on all major online record stores including Itunes, Napster, and Amazon. After completion of the record, DHD began expanding their live capabilities by landing a finals slot in a battle of the bands in Cheyenne, WY three years in a row. They also made the finals of a Denver, CO competition sponsered by "Metal Sanaz" from L.A. in 2010. 2011 was a year of even more expansion and changes for DHD. While reducing live performances, vocalist Adam Bartling invested in a home recording studio, providing endless recording opportunity for Dolly Hit Dollie. The first full length album, "Twenty Thirteen" began production in January of 2011 and is being released this year. Another dramatic change for the band in 2011 was the replacement of original bassist Ben Carey. Relocating to Sidney from Lincoln, NE; Austin Smith now takes on the role of full-time bassist for the band. Dolly Hit Dollie continues to write and practice to prepare for a summer tour. They have attempted touring many times in the past, but so far 2012 looks the most promising. With a new record, line-up, and attitude to succeed. Dolly Hit Dollie will continue to evolve!
